Joyce Rogers

I shall acquire the gift
And skill of telling people no.
I shall take joy in saying it
And watch myself grow.

No one shall cast upon me,
The words of guilt and shame.
If their life is not being
Managed right…
I am not the blame.

I'll only say yes when I
Know it will make a difference,
When it will lead to a godly reverence.

I’m tired of circling back around,
I’ve grown weary in
Dealing with minds unsound.

If my friends and relatives
Only strive to exist,
They will never find
Their purpose in the midst of this.

They may get upset
When I tell them no,
But I know,
I am helping them to grow.

Yesss! I shall take joy in saying no!
