Oscar and her Royal Guards went to capture Jeanne. When she tried to tell Jeanne to get out of the house because the bomb was going to explode, Jeanne fell off the balcony and died. Even with Jeanne's death, however, it was too late to save the Queen's image. Still, Queen Marie was grateful for what Oscar has done, and promoted her. As Oscar was ready for a rest, the nobles were frightened by a "Black Knight" who only robs the pocessions of nobles. Oscar saw him during a ball, when she dressed up as a lady for the first time and dansed with Hans, who had no idea with whom he's dansing because Oscar looks very different in dress than in military uniforms. Having known nothing about the lady's identity, Hans told Oscar that he knew somebody that resembles her appearence, who's kind hearted, beautiful, also has blond hair, and would do everything to fulfill her own dream, etc. Hearing this, Oscar felt it was sufficient enough, and it was then that the Black Knight appeared. In order to capture the Knight who has not shown up in quite a time, Oscar decided to lure him out by making a fake one to rob the rich in the name of the real Knight. However, when the true knight was lured out and discovered that he was being tricked, he blinded Andre's left eye, and took Rosalie prisoner. In order to save Rosalie, Oscar paid a visit to the Palais Royale, Duke Orlean's palace, where she had seen the Knight disappear. In a trick, Oscar was captured and was locked up along with Rosalie. However, due to Andre's own sacrifice to his left eye and Oscar's quick wits, they got away, and captured the Black Knight. As Oscar got to know the Knight, Bernard, who was one of the member of a group, whose aim was to revolt against the throne, Oscar really started to notice and think about the way the poor people lived. Meanwhile, when Oscar met Hans, Hans discovered that the beautiful foreign countess he danced with at the ball was Oscar – the day that Oscar feared had come. Due to this, Oscar was forced to part from Hans as Hans told her that if he knew from the beginning that she was a female, they wouldn’t be in such pain, and that he was sorry for Oscar because the only person he could love and devote his life to was Queen Antoinette. In spite that, Hans convinced Oscar that she was the best friend he had.
