"BRASIL TREM JEITO"

( A slogan which is an ambiguity that represents the struggle in favor of a train answer to the Brazilian transportation needs. )

In the last forty years the Brazilian Railway Systems have been leaded into a condition which could certainly be explained as one of the greatest causes for deterioration in life quality and environment changes in the main Brazilian cities. The lack of financial investments in the railways, (also including subway network systems), as well as the exaggerated presence of automobiles, trucks, buses and all others vehicles which rolls over tires, have demanded some the following consequences:

1- Brazil has the word's top rate in urban traffic and roads accidents, it means an annual average of 24.000 deaths and plus than 50.000 injured people within a total of 78.000 accidents with human victims.
2- Traffic in big cities has became as full as the levels of stress while noise have increased dramatically
3- Slums and others bad conditions of inhabitation have been growing up in a exponential rate.
4- The environment atmosphere has became worse daily, beyond the limits of tolerance.
5- More than U$10 billion have been expended in plus annually in order to support the freight and passenger transportation system by road. Instead, if it was to the rail system, Brazil would have had a greater collection of general benefits.
6- It turns Brazilian products and services more expensive then much of their competitors due to the excessive oil dependence and transport modal concentration.
7- The urban available areas have been vastly occupied by the expansion needs of the road option.

Finally, this "BRAZIL TREM JEITO" has been created in order to draw the attention to the important hole of the railway transportation in Brazil.

It means :
