Each solar cycle from the day of your birth, you progress from your original
Destiny Kin to the next kin in your
Earth Family which becomes the influence for the coming year. I was born a
White Crystal Mirror. After the first year this then
progresses to Blue Cosmic Night. The
Glyph moves 5 forward on the Tzolkin, from Mirror to Night, and the
Tone moves 1 forward, from Crystal to Cosmic. The influences
of the Mirror glyph, which happens the 1st year of my birth, are
Reflection and Endlessness; the influences of the Night
glyph, which occur during the 2nd year after my birth, are Dreaming
and Abundance. The influences of the Crystal Tone are
Cooperation and Universalization.
The influences of the Cosmic Tone are Presence and Transcendence. After reaching the 13th Tone, Cosmic, that is the end
of that Wavespell. The following
year you would move to the Wavespell counter-clockwise from the completed one in the
Castle. The beginning of my third year I became
Yellow Magnetic Star. Next in line would be
Red Lunar Skywalker. In the 5th year the Tone progresses to
the 3rd Tone, Electric, and I once again come back to my original Solar Seal,
Mirror. Every 4 years I would return to the Solar Seal of
my birth. Every 13 years I would return to the Tone of my birth. These 4 Solar Seals,
Mirror, Night,
Star, and Skywalker, are known as my
Earth Family. My Earth Family is called the
Signal Kin. In relation to the energy centers in the
human body the Signal Kin are associated with the Solar Plexus. Every 52 solar years the Solar
Seal and the Tone are the same as the day of birth. This is called the Galactic Return.
THE MAYAN LONG COUNT
The Mayans did not use a base 10 decimal system which is the current world standard.
Their numbering system uses 20 as its base, called a Vigesimal
system. The Mayan Long Count diverges from the Mayan
counting system in the number of Uinals in a
Tun, being only 18 instead of 20, to match more closely
the passing of a solar year. 20 consecutive days is called a
Uinal . 18 Uinals is called a Tun
. A Tun is 360 Kin. Following is a table to show the Mayan counting system.

(*The number of years is not an exact number because the Mayan long
count is based on 360 days (1 Tun) and not 365.25)
Each Kin grouping is a multiple of 20 units of the preceding Mayan Kin group,
excepting the Tun (18 Uinals). 20 Tuns equals 1
Katun; 20 Katuns equals 1 Baktun
, 20 Baktuns equals 1 Piktun, etc. A
Great Cycle consists of 13 Baktuns - 1,872,000 kin, or
approximately 5,200 years. The present cycle began on August 13, 3114 BC and ends on
December 21, 2012 (Gregorian time).
The Mayan long count, as it is seen on the monuments of the
ancient Mayan sites, is read from top to bottom with the largest number on top and
each successively smaller number underneath. All numbers are represented with just
two symbols, the Dot and the Bar
. Up to 3 bars (each bar equals 5 units) and 4 dots (1 dot equals 1 unit)
could be grouped together for a total of 19 before moving to the next unit of
measure up the scale on totalling 20. The shorthand notation puts the numbers
horizontally separated by a period. As an example, having 5 Baktuns, 9 Katuns,
16 Tuns, 2 Uinals, and 19 kin would read as follows: 5.9.16.2.19. This would be
a total of 790,939 kin. This is how a number of days that has passed since the
start of the present Great Cycle is depicted.
THE MAYAN HAAB
The Mayan solar year is called a Haab, or vague year.
This is 18 months (Uinals) of 20 days each totalling 360 days, with 5 days left over at
the end for a total of 365. The five day period ending the Mayan solar cycle is
called the Uayeb and in the ancient Mayan Civilization
this was considered an ominous time which could bring misfortune. The Haab calendar
was used primarily for agriculture and tracking the seasons. The Tzolkin was used for
calculating important events like marriages, births, predicting future events,
battles, and tracking the energy of each particular day. The linking of the Haab
solar cycle with the Tzolkin galactic cycle produces an 18,890 kin cycle,
approximately a 52 year cycle which was also particularly feared by the Mayans.
It was believed to be a time when the world could easily come to an end and the
Mayan deities were called upon for the world to continue.
THE "LOOM OF MAYA"
The black spaces marked on the Tzolkin, consists of
13 Occult Quartets, making up the
Loom of the 13 Moons. They are the 52 Galactic
Activation Portals. Jose Arguelles calls them days to "take magic flight".
The pattern is believed to have correlations to our DNA genetic code, the oracle of
the I Ching, the periodic movement of the wobble of the Earth and the 26,000 year
Precession of the Equinoxes. Whether time
tells that all or none of this is true, the calendar offers an intriguing look into
the cosmos and the pursuit of the astronomical findings of the Mayans is a quest into
the nature of time, of cosmic cycles, celestial influence, and personal inquiry.
Adding up the Tones in an Occult
Quartet comes to 28, the number of days in a Mayan month - another interesting
mathematical correlation between elements of the Mayan's calendars. 13 sets of 28
equals 364, the number of days in 13 moons, or the Mayan Solar Year that begins on
July 26th of the Gregorian count, and ends on July 24th. The 25th of July is the
"Day Out Of Time", and is considered between solar years.
The Mayan Solar Calendar takes into account this extra day and in Mayan it is called
Tun Uc.
