and educational uses.
Internet

Internet Relay Chats encourage the informal style of
the spoken word rather than the formal style of written language. This activity
will introduce you to the fundamentals of Internet Relay Chats, providing an
understanding of how this technology functions.
Activity
Multi-user-Domains and Multi-User-Domain Object Oriented
This activity will introduce you to Multi user
domains where you can conduct synchronous activities and facilitate discussion
about the potential uses of this technology in the classroom. It also gives a brief description of
the activity and a link to the activity's directory in the World Links'
Collaboration Center. MUDs
(Multi-user-domains) and MOOs (Multi-User Domain Object Oriented) offer an
interesting alternative to the synchronous communication of Internet Relay
Chats. These communication media are derived from computer applications that
allow multiple users to connect via the Internet to a shared database of rooms
and other objects and interact with each other and the database in synchronous
time.
