Scouting is not a science to be solemnly studied, nor is it a collection of doctrines and texts. Nor again is it a military code for drilling discipline into boys and repressing their individuality and initiative. No - it is a jolly game in the out of doors, where boy-men and boys can go adventuring together as older and younger brother, picking up health and happiness, handicraft and helpfulness.

And that is something we try to keep to at 1st Cambridge, through our outdoors based program and friendly troop atmosphere. The troop caters for girls and boys between the ages of 11 and 18. We run an active program, which teaches self-discipline, teamwork, leadership and a whole bunch of outdoor skills. We go on overnight hikes and camps in which scouts learn how to cook for themselves and clean up after themselves.
