Ear |
Procedure: The piercer will clean the area, mark it, then pierce it using either a gun or a needle, depending on the area and your personal beliefs on piercing guns. (Click here for my opinion) There are many places on your ear to have pierced. Lobes: the area at the bottom of the ear Cartilidge: The area at the top and outside of ear. Tragus: The flap connected to your head that's on the oppostie side of the part of your ear which sticks out away from your head. See a pic. Rook/Anti-Helix: The fold above the tragus. See a pic. Daith: the fold inside your ear next to the opening to the ear canal. See a pic. Snug/Helix: The fold on the outside of your ear opposite from the tragus and opening to ear canal. See a pic. Industrial: Involves 2 piercings, on at the top near your head and then one to the side. There is then a bar which connects the 2 piercings. See a pic. You can also have an industrial that connects 2 piercings somewhere else on the ear. See a pic. Conch: Inner ear cartilidge opposite the ear canal. See a pic of an industrial which is tragus to conch. Anti-Tragus: The cartilidge right above your ear lobe. See a pic. Thanx to BME for all the pics! Aftercare: It varies for all piercings but generally you should wait about 6 months for it to be completely healed, although my cartilidge took about a year to completly heal to where I can take it out for a long period of time and be able to freely change it. Clean it with anti bacterial soap and something equivalent to bactine, although this step is controversial. Its up to you, the piercee. |
