MONTEGO BAY TOURS

[Roaring River] ROARING RIVER ESTATES   in Petersfield is named for the gushing waters of the river. It is part of an estate originally belonging to one of the first British families to settle in Jamaica after the overthrow of the Spanish, back in the 17th century. This is an area of tall trees, beautiful flowers, and beautiful water. Take a dip in the underground mineral spring, and explore the property's cave. During high season, listen to African drummers, and watch crafts being made.

[Cranbrook Flower Forrest] CRANBROOK FLOWER FOREST   Cranbrook Flower Forest offers a unique experience of Peace and Natural Beauty. Begin at the entrance garden with its 500 acres of Waterpools, Lawns, Banks of Tropical Plants and Flowers. An inpressive display of Anthurium and Orchids. Enjoy something from there Snack Shop or Restaurant. Walk a Trail along the Banks of a Meandering Stream, that leads to the Giant Tree Ferns, Spectacular Torch Ginger, Clusters of Pink and Red Ginger, Heliconia, Bird of Paradise, Begonia, Yellow Shrimp Plant; Patches of Croton, Philodendron and Palms of many varieties. Activities include Nature Trails, Bird Watching, Wading in the Stream, Lawn Croquet, Pond Fishing, Donkey Rides and Volley Ball...

[ROCKLANDS BIRD FEEDING STATION] ROCKLANDS BIRD FEEDING STATION   in the town of Anchovy, not only will you see them, but you'll feed them too! Upon entering the property, the first thing you notice is a softening quietness - city sounds have been replaced with the murmur of wind rustling through the trees, the gentle voices of the house's inhabitants, and the chirping of birds who see you long before you see them.
The home and grounds belong to Ms. Lisa Salmon, a Jamaican woman from Kingston, who purchased the property in the 1950's. She began feeding the local birds and soon was nicknamed "The Bird Lady." She opened her land to the public in 1962, and visitors from around the world have been making the trek to her front door ever since.
. You may call and set up an appointment for bird walks, tours of the property, or just come for a feeding. Moneys charged go towards the preservation and care of the twenty some acres of woodland, as well as toward food for the birds.
