Welcome To My
Family Page
Well first of all I have been married to my husband, Patrick, for a long time now. Patrick was born in California and
I was born in Virginia. We have been living in a small town in
Northern Georgia since 1989 and have no plans to move
again, at least not anytime soon!
I have been somewhat of a nomad and here is a list of some of
the places I have lived:
Nassawadox,
Virginia
|
Biloxi,
Mississippi
|
Manchester
NewHampshire
|
Frankfurt,
Germany
|
Lompoc,
California
|
Cheyenne,
Wyoming
|
Marietta,
Georgia
|
Fayetteville, North
Carolina
|
Norcross,
Georgia
|
I have moved, at last count, 16 times. Several of the moves
were back to places I had already lived, for instance I lived twice
in Biloxi, Mississippi and twice in Norcross, Georgia. I guess that
explains why I don't want to move again!!!
Another small bit of information about me is:
I AM AN OVER PROTECTIVE MOM!!!
It is kind of a joke with my boys, but they respect me
for it. Here is a good example of what I mean:
On the night of their senior prom, Zack and Michael had planned to go
to several different places after the prom. I sat up all night
worried sick, but each time they were about to leave one location for
another the phone would ring and it would be one of my boys telling
me where they were going and that they would call me when they got
there. Sure enough a short time later the phone would ring again and
they would say, we got here safe, so you can stop worrying. Of course
they knew I wouldn't stop worrying until they were home, but at least
they cared enough about me to call. :-)
If you get the feeling that I like to brag about my children,
well you are right! My boys are the most important thing in my life
and I am very proud of all of them. So please let me tell a little
about them.
My Children
Michael is my first born.
He is a grown man now with a wonderful wife and the most precious set of twins a grandmother could ask for. He completed college and decided to help his wife's father run the family business rather than go out in search of a more lucrative career. Michael is a kind and thoughtful young man who attends church every Sunday, often taking the time to stop by and pick up his younger brother Brian. I do not go to church, nor do I tell him to go, he just does. I think in this day and time, a young man who chooses to worship God, must be a pretty wonderful kid. He is not only my son, he is also my friend.
On the day that Michael was born, my life began. Some people go
through their whole lives never knowing who they are, but I have no
doubt about who I am, because I know I am his mom. I am very proud to
be the mother of such a charming, honest, and sensitive young man and
I pray that his life will be even happier than he has made mine.
Many parents think their children owe them something, but his
love has given me more than any one person could ever deserve.
Zack
Although I did not carry him in my womb, I will always consider him my son. Zack was the most forgiving person I ever knew. He loved to laugh and have fun. He was the Kicker for his High School football team in his senior year and he
scored more points than any kicker in the schools history. Of
course he did get thrown out of one game, when he 'danced' up to the
ball.
When God sent Zack to me, I knew he was a star sent from heaven
to brighten up a darkening world. His light shined on everyone he
met and his smile and laughter were contagious. His heart found good
where others wouldn't even look and although he had been through alot
of rough times, he never gave up.
These are some of the reasons I felt so blessed to be able to
call him my son. He did indeed, brightened up my life and made my
heart smile.
Sadly, Zack was killed in a car wreck on his way home from work a couple of years ago, but he did one last great thing, he gave of himself as a donor. He will never be forgotten by those fortunate enough to have met him.
Brian is my "Baby". He is
'the prince of drama'. At 6 months old he could whistle! I know that's hard to believe, but just imagine how I felt when about an hour after I had put him down for his nap, I heard someone whistling. When I went to see where it was coming from, I found Brian sitting up in his crib with his lips puckered, just
whistling away. After that anytime he wanted me, he whistled. He is
one smart cookie!
My baby boy, made me remember how pure and simple life can
be. Every time we played cars in the sand, colored, or sang together,
I became a carefree child again. He in essence, gave me back my
youth. He is my sunshine.
Today I look up and see a young man where my little boy use to
be and I wonder where the time went. I will always cherish the memories of his younger days, but as I watch the man he is becoming I can't help feel a sense of pride! He has a heart of gold and he has the confidence of someone who knows that he never walks alone.
Brian wanted to be a fireman, like his daddy, when he
grows up, but now I think he's leaning toward engineering. He has always had a knack for being creative.
Patrick
Well that brings us to my husband, Patrick. I had to at least
mention him, so here it is. ;-)
Patrick tries very hard to be a good daddy. He puts up with a whole
lot more than I ever thought he would and if they gave medals for
patience, well he would be first in line. Of course just being
married to me should entitle him to some kind of medal, such as
courage, bravery, or maybe endurance!*L*
His job as head mechanic over the EMS vehicles and being
a volunteer firefighter and rescue worker keeps him pretty busy.
Unfortunately he doesn't share my interest in the computer and
whenever I'm laughing at something that was said in chat, he just
comes in and shakes his head at me. We have our differences as most
couples do, but somehow we work through them. Neither of us are
perfect and as time goes by we learn to take the good with the bad,
as it should be.
His hobbies include playing with Brian and helping friends with
car trouble. Oh yeah... His other hobby is working on our house. He
has been doing it forever now, so either he really likes it
or really hates it... I'm not sure which!
Me
As for myself... Well I must confess, I was a
Netaholic for a long time, but then something happened and it was hard to find the time to keep my pages up so they became a little out dated. Kind of like me!*sob*
I searched high and low for graphics, and information
for homepage design and I found some really cool stuff, but now it all seems so pitiful compared to the other sites I have seen. Anyway I hope you
enjoy my pages even if they are a little old style.
Believe it or not I do have a few hobbies other
than net surfing. Like I really enjoy reading a good book, or
listening to good music. I use to love to dance, but at my age
I have to be careful not to over do it...;-) In my younger days I
was quite the horse woman. I use to ride in gymkhanas, doing barrel
racing, pole bending, and the keyhole. I even showed my horse once
and she took Reserve Grand Champion for the state of Wyoming. That
seems like a life time ago and although I no longer have a horse, I
still enjoy watching others compete.
Well that is about it on the quick run down... If you would
like to get to know me even better you could visit the page where I
tell all about my "Soap Opera" life. There
are some very serious issues raised on this page, so please go with
an open mind. Thank you for visiting and Take Care!
