"Solace: Progressive Relaxation
and Guided Imagery"

A cassette tape offering relaxation techniques which you can use anytime, anywhere!

A grand gift for those who need to relieve the stress and make sleep richer and life lovelier. Side One includes spoken instructions for progressively relaxing your entire body and mind - including calming restless thoughts and worries - over a background of soothing instrumental music.

Side two consists of the relaxing music itself, to use once you learn to employ the relaxation techniques on your own, or simply to provide a tranquil atmosphere for your daily activities.

Each side is a little more than half an hour long.

Here's a short downloadable sample of the music from "Solace."

KATARI: It Rhymes With Canary
A CD recording of original songs and music
All songs Copyright 1999 by Katari Brown. All rights reserved.

Recorded and mastered by Greg Brayton at Brayton and Sons Productions, Coldwater, Michigan

Song stylist and keyboardist Katari performs her original moody musings, with instrumental backup from Aaron Brown, Greg Brayton and Jesse Cornwell. These are longing, cynical and playful essays on the journey of life, passion, anger, fear and hope -- along with a generous sprinkling of off-the-wall fun. Rhythms to get your toes tapping and lyrical melodies to treat your ears complete this sampling of Katri's creations.

    Marshall: 1847 -
The Story of the Crosswhite Case

A cassette tape that tells the true story of an escaped slave family's adventure!

John C. Sherwood has done original research into the factual account of the Crosswhite family, who escaped in 1843 from a northern Kentucky plantation and were tracked down more than three years later in Marshall, a politically ambition community in southern lower Michigan. Hundreds of Marshall residents prevented the slave-catchers from taking the family back to Kentucky, and Adam Crosswhite (shown at left) and his family eventually gained their freedom. The incident and the trials that followed comprise one of the best-documented tales of the Underground Railroad.

    "Writing by Moonlight:
An American's Diary of Foreign Service, August 1917 to February 1919"

A bound, illustrated manuscript of more than 100 printed pages.

At right: Clayton Marshall Sherwood in his service uniform. The date of the photo is unknown. As the uniform's condition suggests a good deal of wear and the surroundings indicate late winter or early spring, the photo may have been taken in February or March 1919 on Clayton's return home to Michigan, a few months after his 21st birthday.

This is a transcription of the diary kept by Clayton M. Sherwood during his service from mid-1917 to early 1919, as a soldier in France with the Coastal Artillery Corps as part of the American Expeditionary Forces during World War One. Clayton eventually was to participate in the major artillery assault on Sept. 12, 1918, known as the Battle of Saint-Mihiel. His grandson, John C. Sherwood, has done original research to annotate the diary, and included photos of the author, his family as well as pertinent World War One images, including maps of the sites.
