Alan Marlow of the British Interplanetary Society introduces his preliminary interview with Sherwood about one-third of the way into the program, discussing a meeting among J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Arthur C. Clarke and Val Cleaver in Oxford to discuss the merits of space travel. Sherwood's later, more in-depth interview (7 minutes), conducted in December 2006 in Oxford, England, forms part of a two-hour BIS audio history compiled by Marlow, issued privately in CD format and awaiting more general release.

Linguistic note: John C. Sherwood participated in The Unicorn Hunters' annual List of Words Banished from the Queen's English for Mis-Use, Over-Use and General Uselessness, during 1987 and 1988. Sherwood nominated in 1987 the phrase "hands-on participatory experience." On New Year's Day 1988, CBS radio in New York City aired an interview with Sherwood in connection with his suggestion that the phrase "alternative lifestyle" be banned from the language. (The late William Rabe, who founded The Unicorn Hunters, shared Sherwood's interest in the realm of Sherlock Holmes.)
