"Once upon a time, a very long time ago now, about last Friday, Winnie-the-Pooh lived in a forest all by himself under the name of Sanders. ("What does 'under the name' mean?" asked Christopher Robin. "It means he had the name over the door in gold letters, and lived under it.")" ~ Winnie The Pooh, Chapter 1

I was a child when I first heard of Winnie-the-Pooh; I had several Disney Pooh stories on 45-speed read-along records, as well as several original, hardcover Classic story books. But it wasn't until I was in high school that I got my first stuffed Poohbear from Bergner's in Watertower Place on a trip to Chicago: a Classical Winnie-the-Pooh holding a hunnypot that winds up and plays an instrumental version of the classic Winnie-the-Pooh song. I have two awesome books: The Complete Tales And Poems of Winnie The Pooh by A. A. Milne with decorations by E. H. Shepard, which lists - obviously - all of the original stories and poems, and "Disney's The Little Big Book of Pooh" collaborated by Monique Peterson that lists tons of Pooh facts along with the complete Disney stories of "The Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh.". As my collection shows, I have mostly Disney-fied Poohs.

My favorite piece in my collection is two-foot tall stuffed Poohbear with the famous red shirt which I got for my 22nd birthday from my brother and sister-in-law. The coolest piece would have to be a Special Edition Poohbear from the Disney catalog; if you smack its bottom, Pooh's tummy "rumbles" (vibrates) and he either giggles or says "I'm rumbly in my tumbly! Time for something sweet!" There are a few items that are packed away back at my parents' house that I couldn't take pictures of: the read-along records, the classic hardcover books, the complete McDonald's Disney Winnie-the-Pooh plush characters on keychains, the complete Disney Winnie-the-Pooh collection of Beanie Babies, a radio/alarmclock with Pooh and Piglet on top that light up, and a stuffed Kanga-and-Roo.

I don't think I'll ever outgrow Winnie-the-Pooh. In January 2007, I went to Disney World for the very first time! I was so excited! My family and my sister-in-law's family (13 total) made the trip to Florida for six days and five nights, staying at the Coronado Springs Resort in Animal Kingdom. Of course I boought another Winnie-the-Pooh, among other souveniers! For pictures and details about our trip, please visit my Disney World website!

I hope you enjoyed your trip to Pooh Corner and will come back again!

"Wherever they go, and whatever happens to them on the way, in that enchanted place on the top of the Forest, a little boy and his Bear will always be playing." ~ The House At Pooh Corner
