He married (1) 10 August 1852 to Mary Hickey in Queanbeyan, Monaroo, New South Wales. She was born 1835 in Sydney, New South Wales, and died as Mary Hickey in 1884 #9959 aged 52 in West Melbourne, Victoria, when her parents were unknown.Thomas Collison married (2) 16 March 1892 to Caroline Emma Dyster in Salvation Army, Butcher St, St Arnaud, Victoria, daughter of Thomas Dyster and Kesia Summers. She was born 10 May 1834 in Elizabeth Creek, Campbelltown in Tasmania, and died 3 December 1899 in St Arnaud, Victoria. Lived at Forest Creek, Castlemaine, then Maldon then Avoca Forest Rush, Logan, Victoria. The delay in wedding date was because they waited till her first husband John Smith died before 'going formal', he had left and the 3 eldest of their 8 children died of Diptheria at home in their hut, at the gold field of Avoca Forest Rush 3 klms n/w of Logan during 1871. Emma had surviving children James Friday Smith 13 March 1863, Thomas Robert Smith 1 January 1868 and Jane Smith ? August 1871 and all took the surname Collison/Collinson. | |
