It was Pedro FERNANDO who was from Spain - Catherine LINDSAY was born in Melbourne. Thought I should mention it.

It was by chance that I came upon your Website that contains, amongst other interesting links, a reference to the Furneaux family - my family name.
I am related to Henry Furneaux married to Mary Hill of Staverton and also William Furneaux son of Ann Bradridge and William Furneaux who in turn married Mary Browse.
I can see you have many lines of interest in your research and am wondering if you have any other references to the Furneaux family that you can allow me to view as I know some of my ancestors did emigrate to Australia and I would be interested to see what is traceable.

Mary Grace Furneaux came Jan 1855 on the Medway, aged 33 and wed 1858 #4448 to John Dart. She died 1875 #7513 aged 56, dau of Mary Browse and William Furneaux of Devon, no known chn.

Furness

The Dare family name given to boys and girls is 'Walrond' after Susannah Walrond, wife of Henry Hatson Dare a master mariner.
There were four surviving Piggott sisters, Fanny, Sarah, Mary Jane & Rebecca. Three of them emigrated on the St George in late 1852 and as it grounded on the Lonsdale reef entering Port Philip bay it appears they were transhipped to the "Marion Moore" for the last leg to Melbourne and were listed as arriving on that vessel.
The Marion Moore came Feb 1853 with the three Piggott sisters, Mary J aged 20, Fanny 18 and Sarah 17.
They are daughters of Mary Ann Blinkhorn and William Piggot of Great Eversden, Cambridge, England
