My line is re. the John Fairrish/Isabella Wood reference.

Isabella Wood actually. Incidentally, by researching Isabella I found our ancestors correct surname. Isabella was my grt.grt.grandmother's sister & she was born in Geelong. I do have some early documents of her. She died in childbirth in her early forties, as did her mother who died 1866.

Isabella Fairish nee Wood dau. of Isabella MacIntosh-Tough (ex Scotland) & John Gray Wood (ex.Yorkshire); who had married in Tasmania in 1839 (the records there were mispelled). Isabella jnr. also had a previous marriage to Thomas Campbell Main who had died.

It also looks like John Sykes (& Susannah) are the signatures as witnesses at Isabella Fairrish (nee Wood)..'s father's 2nd marriage in Geelong in 1871. (her father being John Wood). Any stories about on John Sykes. Where was he from? What did he do?

John Sykes wed 1849 to Susannah Bowden

Interestingly John Wood was buried as a Wesleyan.

My Ancestor James Fraser married Hannah Woodhouse Loose in about 1804, they had 17 children between 1805 and 1834, one being my Great Grandfather Robert Fraser ( 1822-1881) who was married in County Cork to Barbara Elinor Atkin. He had a sister named Hannah and also a brother named Simon (born 1st June 1818).
Neil Fraser, currently in Ontario Canada.

The El Dorado came Nov 1852 with 361 passengers, including the Fraser family of Simon 34, Mrs, Kate 7, June 6, Hannah 5 and infant. Fraser Simon 21 Feb 1853 Aurora came with Malcolm 28, John J 18, and WS 18 Fraser Simon 25 Apr 1853 Lord Metcalfe came with James aged 21 Fraser Simon 20 Apr 1853 Sacsusa came alone
