George Head's daughter Mary Ann married Stephen Pilcher Allen
I have newspaper interviews of her sister Elsa Head who married our George Foreman, (son of John and Christiana Foreman) John Foreman arrived in South Australia with his wife and 5 children, in 1839 on the D'Auvergne, and George Head and Mary Ann Walton arrived in 1839 on the Duchess of Northumberland with their daughters Elsa, Mary Ann, Eliza Matilda and Ellen.
Passenger lists of the D'Auvergne, from London Nov 13th, 1838 - Captain P le Huquet, arrived Port Adelaide on 21-03-1839 - 170 passengers and of the Duchess of Northumberland from London August 5, 1839 with Captain Fredk. Geare arrived Port Adelaide Dec 17, 1839, with graphic details, including the landing at Port Misery, on these web sites written by Di Cummings.

Stephen Pilcher Allen 30 Apr 1834, son of John Allen, wed 1857 to Mary Ann Head 4 Apr 1833, daughter of George Head. Most of the children were born at Marion on the Sturt, Adelaide District, South Australia.

Hi Eliza,
On your geocities entry you have listed Henry Angus b 1860 as the son of Henry Angus b c 1830.
Henry that married Margaret Wilson was born in 1865, Mt Duneed Victoria, son of Joseph Armstrong Angus and Sarah Ann Scott. He was a member of Parliament for many years and remained the local member of Parliament for Kerang right up until his death.
Joseph Armstrong's grandparents were Henry Angus and Dorothy Garner of Northumberland , hence the name Garner in the name of Joseph Garner Angus.
I just thought I'd let you know that you have entered the incorrect Henry into your research.

Henry Angus aged 22, so born c1834, son of Jane Graham and William Angus, wed on 21 Sep 1856 at Ballarat to Margaret Maher, born Tipperary, Ireland, daughter of Mary Toomey and Edmond Maher.
Henry Angus was Christened 20 Jan 1834 at Saint Cuthbert, Carlisle, Cumberland, England and died at Castlemaine and Margaret is called Mary Angus when she was buried at Tarnagulla, dying on 23 Dec 1910.

I have been missing a Henry Angus b. 1834 in Carlisle, Cumberland. Family legend had it that he was sent to Australia for sheep-stealing !! but I have so far not been able to verify this. I see that you state that your Henry Angus was the son of Jane Graham and William Angus, and wondered how you got the information, as the Henry Angus I was looking for was indeed the son of William Angus and Jane Graham.
I am descended from another of their sons, William Fergus Angus who remained in England, so you can imagine my interest when I came across your interesting web page.
