Country music's award winning Bonnie Owens career started in the late 1940's. Besides her
solo career, Bonnie Owens is also very well known for the work she has done with her
former husbands, Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. Bonnie had put her solo career on hold for
quite a few years while touring with Merle Haggard & The Strangers. Bonnie Owens has
been with Merle since his Talley years, except for a couple of brief interludes. Although
she is still touring with Merle Haggard & The Strangers, between tours she is doing
some performances on her own as well.
We saw Bonnie and Merle at Whitmore Lake,
Michigan on September 25, 1998. Little would you know by her performance, that Bonnie
was just back from surgery. She gave her all to a very appreciative audience.
This page is a our way of paying tribute to a special lady, who along with The
Strangers, helped smooth the road on the way to Super Stardom for Merle Haggard.
