Two former Bulldogs made news recently, Amanda (Deckard) Stagner was recently named assistant coach for the Portland Lady Panthers under head coach Missy Humphrey.  Amanda played for RBS in basketball and softball from 1994-1998.  Also, former Bulldog manager Brandon Hudson was hired by the University of Tennessee Athletic Department to work in Development and Marketing.  Aside from office duties, Brandon is also the Coordinator of Event Sound for UT Men's Basketball and Baseball.  Brandon also is Cheif Sound Engineer for the University of Tennessee Ice Vols hockey team and also assists with the Knoxville Speed minor league hockey franchise and the 2001 IPFL Champion Tennessee Thundercats arena football team.

Last Friday, the roundball teams from Red Boiling Springs Squared off against district rival Hermitage Springs.  The Lady Bulldogs came out hot on offense AND defense holding Lady Wildcat leading scorer Keely Cherry to only 6 points as the upstart Lady Bulldogs routed the Lady Cats 64-30.  Emily Clark was the leading scorer of the night with 19.  In the second game, it appeared as if it would be much the same in the early going, as the Bulldogs jumped out to a 12 point lead at the half.  The Wildcats would come back though in the second half and pull within 4 points of the Bulldogs.  That would be as close as they would get though as RBS, lead by Randy Rice's 10 would hold off the Cats 48-41
Lady Bulldogs upset Lady Wildcats to complete sweep of doubleheader against Hermitage Springs
The 35th annual RBS Christmas Tournament will take place this week at Hilltop Gymnasium.  The Westmoreland Eagles and Lady Eagles are the defending champions.  Games begin Tuesday night with teams from Macon County, Hermitage Springs, Hartsville, Westmorland, and the hosts from Red Boiling Springs High School participating.  For full tournament info, brackets, results, etc.

35th RBS Christmas Tournament
The RBS Lady Bulldogs notched only their second championship in the history of the Tip-Off Classic  by defeating the Macon County Tigerettes.  The Boys came up just short of earning their 3rd championship in four years, and fourth overall.  They dropped a close decision to the Macon County Tigers.  The next tournament for both teams is the Macon County Invitaional
