spool system is the greatest modification ever made to a reel. Anyway recently
at the Victorian 4WD and Fishing expo., I found myself chatting to some people
at Shimano. What their plans are for the Baitrunners 3500,4500 and 6500 is
to over the next 2 1/2 to 3 years fade them out and bring in their new baitrunner
reel. Their new reel has huge improvements from the original. It now will
have a Aluminum Body, Super Stopper, Dnya Balance, Aero Wrap, and 6 Ball
bearings. The name for this reel is the Thunnus.Now what I'm thinking is with all these new features is "How can the average fisherman afford this reel.??"Currently the Baitrunners sell from $180-$200. This new model will sell for around $300 !!
