Our Man Flint
'Our Man Flint' appeared in 1966 and was the first of two movies starring James Coburn as Derek Flint, agent of Z.O.W.I.E (Zonal Organization World Intelligence Espionage). In the film, Flint's mission is to destroy Galaxy, an organization intent on controlling the world by controlling the weather. Galaxy is an interesting nemesis, in that it purports to have a humane agenda. The three scientists that run Galaxy come across as sincere and thoughtful and promise to eliminate war and poverty and to use their power over the weather to "turn desert wastelands into gardens of Eden."The film costars the voluptuous Gila Golan who plays Gila, Flint's partner and love interest. According to the Internet Movie Database, she had one bit role in a subsequent film, and then seems to have vanished from sight. Judging from her name and a flawless eastern European accent, my guess is that she's Hungarian. I would be very curious to know her background and whatever happened to her.
