--2 1/2 cups flour
--1/3 cup cocoa powder
--1/2 tsp. baking soda
--1/4 tsp salt
--2 tsp. instant coffee crystals
--2 tsp coffee liqueur (this really isn't necessary.  2 tsp of water work just fine, you just get less coffee flavor. Don't go and buy a whole thing of coffee liqueur for 2 tsp. of it.  It's not worth it.  Just put extra coffee in the water.)
--3/4 cup dark brown sugar
--1 cup white sugar
--1 cup butter, softened (I know, a real artery-clogger)
--2 eggs
--12 oz. (1 package) Semi-Sweet Nestle Tollhouse Morsels (NO OTHER BRAND IS ACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!)
--3 or 4 "mega-tubes" of Mini M&M's
--non-pariel-style sprinkles

Yield: 4 dozen (says the book.  I says more like 5 or 6 dozen.  They
have big cookies)

--Preheat oven to 300
--In a meduim bowl combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.  Mix and set aside.
--In a small bowl dissolve coffee crystals in water/coffee liqueur. (if using water, nuke it a little so the crystals dissolve a little easier)
--In a large bowl blend sugars with an electric mixer at medium speed.
--Add butter and mix to form a grainy paste.  Then add eggs and coffee, and beat at medium speed until smooth.
--Add the flour mixture and blend at low speed just until combined.  Do
not overmix.  (yeah, whatever.  Just mix it.)
--Add morsels (heehee!) and M&M's.
FOR ALL YOU PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO DON'T LIKE GETTING YOUR HANDS MESSY OR WHO ARE DEATHLY AFRAID OF SALMONELLA, SKIP DOWN TO THE NEXT SECTION!!!!!!
--Pour sprinkles onto a paper plate.  Take a ball of dough about 1 inch in diameter (this gets sticky--learn how to putter around the kitchen using only your palms to pick up stuff) and roll in sprinkles.  Place balls on an ungreased cookie sheet.
FOR THOSE WHO DON'T GET MESSY:
--Spoon tablespoonfuls of batter onto an ungreased cookie sheet and
sprinkle on sprinkles. (but this way they tend to melt onto the sheet, making it a real b*tch to clean )
FOR EVERYONE:
--Bake for 23-25 minutes (try not to scorch them--they get nasty if you do).  Transfer onto a cooling-type surface immediately.

NOTE:  If you don't really like coffee, just leave it out.  You'll just have a standard chocolate cookie.  Ta-da!  Have fun!
