Welcome!

TERMS & CONDITIONS:  AIRCHECK is available as a reference point for information and radio nostalgia and is run purely for pleasure of the editor and those who visit by a broadcasting enthusiast.   The site is not affiliated to any radio stations or companies mentioned.  Images are included to enhance the text content and for personal enjoyment of visitors and absolutely NO offence is intended.    NO profit is made from the availability of the site by it's editor.  Any objections to images shown should be directed via e-mail in order for appropriate action to be taken.  Alternatively, credit is gladly given to suppliers of imagery on this site where necessary.  Additionally, the views shown on this site are not necessarily the opinion of the site editor, and instead may be the views of  correspondents who have written pieces for inclusion on the site.  Thankyou.

The Editor strives to ensure that all site content is accurate, but makes no claims that everything is correct.  However, extensive research is carried out using reputable sources, the internet and other research material when collating and compiling features.  The use of reference to sources of information is not considered viable for most elements on this site.  Correspondence, i.e. corrections & additions, are welcome via e-mail, however, in these cases, every effort is made to verify details before posting, otherwise, the information is posted with a credit, and therefore some reliance is put on those contacting the site that any editorial submitted is indeed accurate.   Additionally, personal memories are welcome in order to enhance the quality of the site.

ABOUT THE SITE: AIRCHECK is designed to be a reference point for industry information and radio nostalgia, for the benefit of both radio people and members of the public.  The editor of the site makes every effort to display content that is both up to date, accurate and easy to understand by both radio people and members of the public, both of whom may be searching for information on UK radio.  In the case of the latter, a glossary of terms is provided via a link on the home page.  In most cases, where jargon is used, the word is linked to the glossary page.

AIRCHECK also aims to highlight and promote great radio stations of the past, as well as recommending the stations of today that offer presenter personality, a local identity and interactivity to their intended audience, that don't play the same old tired minimalistic set of tracks, and that don't sound the same as everything else on the dial.

It aims to provide easy access via it's many clickable 'hot' links which 'fastpath' directly to the information of interest to the viewer, with all information displayed clearly without unnecessary clutter

At present, AIRCHECK focuses on British radio, but we're now trying to expand to European and International Radio too!  Visit our AIRCHECK UK and INTERNATIONAL pages, and, irrespective of where you are in the world, we'd love to hear from you with a report on the radio where you are.   Just e-mail with your details to the address below.

Since it's launch on 6th December 2001, considerable development has taken place leading to almost 2000 hits in its first year, and more than 8,000 in it's second year - a significant achievement for what is in essence a website designed by a radio enthusiast.

Of note, our Tracker pages offer an ever expanding reference point for the 'whereabouts' of radio presenters - with a welcome invitation for visitors to start a search or assist someone else with theirs.    Lots of the site content has been supplied from general radio fans as well as established radio personnel - with many kind comments left on our Guestbook or via e-mail as a result.  See our 'What People Say' page for more details.

Our home page also includes access to 'Museum' pages which include items held in the personal archive of the site's designer and other interesting items acquired.  You can also find out how about the list of OFFSHORE, BBC & UK Commercial ILR stations & Jingle recordings held with a view to obtaining them under the terms and conditions of the Archive page.

Why not visit our ever expanding LINKS for radio sites of interest to us and hopefully to you too!  If you run a radio site, we'd love to add you on to the list!  Just e-mail us with your website's address - all we ask in return is that you return the favour.

Finally for those of you eager enough to know all about the site editor, there's an about me page too!

Do get in touch and say what you honestly think of the site, and also if there's anything you'd like to see that is not already featured on it,  E-mail or sign the guestbook through the home page menu bar.   Thanks for visiting - and most of all, I hope you enjoy the site.   Now, the nitty-gritty stuff...

Thanks for visiting today and come back soon!
