Here are various links to ocean teaching ideas, units, and virtual field trips. 
As a volunteer at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, IL, I thought I'd include a picture of one of my favorite friends, a beluga whale.

The Learning Page: This site has links to free downloadable worksheets for ocean.  Worksheets are for PK-2 in language arts, math, and science.  They also have clip art pages and mural pages.  Besides ocean, they have dinosaurs, zoo animals, and insects/spiders.

Can Teach Songs and Poems: Looking for ocean songs and poems.  Scroll down the site for fish, whale, and other sea creature songs and poems.  This site also has a phenomenal amount of poetry for any subject area!

School Net Ocean Site: Looking for information for your ocean unit.  This site has links to many ocean-related subject areas.
Magic School Bus Ocean CD-Rom: This site has two free downloadable games and gives a "taste" of the CD-rom that is for sale.
Mrs. Seagrave's Under the Sea Unit: This site includes a teacher resource page, fishy tales, fun activities, and other links.

Shedd Aquarium: This aquarium is located in Chicago, IL.  It has a fantastic aquarium exhibit displaying freshwater fish from the Midwest, Asia, and North America.  The Oceanarium has Pacific Coastal Dolphins, Beluga Whales, Sea Otters, Harbor Seals, a Coral Reef display, and Penguins.  Currently a special exhibit called "Seahorse Symphony" is on display.  Coming in June 2000, a massive display in the Aquarium dedicated to the 4 seasons of the Amazon will open.  Well worth a visit to Chicago to visit! 
Ocean AdVENTure: With this virtual dive, you will visit the hydrothermal vents in the depths of the ocean and see some of the intersting creatures that live there.
Sea World: I visited Sea World in Orlando several years ago.  There are some great exhibits there.  If you want to study marine mammals, you are better off visiting an Aquarium.
Oceans - Encarta Online: Ocean Articles, Lesson plans, quizzes, and beautiful photographs.
Whale Club: Information on whales, dolphins, and manatees including facts, photos, multimedia, teacher and kids links.
Marine Mammals: Links to information on dolphins, sea otters, whales, seals, and other marine animals.
Ocean Planet Smithsonian: Educational materials, teaching units, and ideas from the Smithsonian Museum.
