Best known in New Zealand for his legendary 200bhp MkIII Zephyr 6, Ernie Sprague also raced MkIV Zephyrs and Zodiacs in Production Races, usually with his son Gary.
Together they won the 1967 Wills 6 hour race, and in doing so managed to do
what the Mk I - IIIs had not achieved, and taken out New Zealand's top long distance
endurance race for production saloons |
