The world of Zion resembles the prehistoric continent of Pangea, with
many islands missing. There are seven regions in the world, although only six
are inhabitable. Hermetic Magick is dominate in Prydain, Shamanism is dominate
in Spegial, though teachers of both magicks can be found in Fenrir, Jyuunin, and
Granveld. It is illegal and impossible to teach or use in the Coalition States.
Humans are not the only sentient species of Zion. Others include the Fae
(Elves, Faeries, Changelings, Trolls, Satyrs, Centaurs and Goblins), Draken
(Dragons, Draconians, and Psuedo-Dragons), Grassrunners (Beastmen and Avariels),
and Nightstalkers (Werecreatures, Vampires, Succubi/Incubi and Dhampyrs). None
of these, save for humans, can exist inside the Coalition States, dying within
days of entering it's borders. Fae and Draken live primarily in Prydain, but
can be found in Jyuunin and Spegial. Grassrunners dominate the Granveld and
Spegial. Nightstalkers are found only in Fenrir and Jyuunin.
All across Zion, there are humans that have been severely deformed because
of the magickal energies surrounding them. These humans are known as Deviants.
Most of them have minor powers, such as limited flight or very weak forms of
psionics, but those in the Coalition States, being born under the effects of the
Anti-Magick field, have no powers whatsoever, and are the least deformed, while
those in Prydain -always- have powers, but are the most horribly deformed.
Below is more information on the various regions of Zion.
Coalition States
A country of Megacorporations, lead by a council of scientific and economic
geniuses who wish to achieve one goal. Peace through total oppression. Deviants
living here are stolen away from their homes daily to be used as guinea pigs by
the genetic engineers of Tower, usually driven mad by these and then let lose to
kill each other in Roman gladiator-type fashion.
Fenrir
A country that seems to be under a permanent chill while it's neighbors, the
Coalition States and Jyuunin, have a normal temperature. Home of things that
go bump in the night, grand castles, thick forests, and quiet glens.
Granveld
Trader central for the world, and an enormous wasteland. Deviants here are treated
like slaves, used for all the hard labor. This is also the Coalition States'
dumping ground, thus the best place a scavenger can be.
Jyuunin
An enormous region with a definite Asian influence. While the inner continent
is much like feudal Japan/China, the outer banks are more like a hyper-futuristic
Japan. Deviants here are highly respected, although there are some bad apples,
such as the Order of the Dragon, which rules the underworld of Neo-Bejing.
Prydain
The most magical oriented country on the planet, resembling ancient Ireland.
Here is the birthplace of all Magick on the planet, and it shows. Fae rule the
moors, and it's quite dangerous for unwary humans to live here, less they wish
to wake up with a donkey's head, or their torso attached to a milk cow's.
Spegial
An untamed land, covered by thick jungle. Home of Shamanism Magick. Grassrunner
tribes along with werebeasts in tune with their animal side are the prime residents
here.
Eden
Home of the most dangerous creatures on the entire planet, completely uninhabitable
because of this, and definitely not a spot for tourists of any kind.
