Biography

I was born in Rio, in 16/03/1966. With a BA in Journalism, from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ), my professional live was always linked to Information and Communications and to the work in NGOs such as Roberto Marinho Foundation/Instituto Acqua (currently inactive) and the British Council.

I am also founder of the Early Intervention Brazilian Society (SOBIP), alongside Niobe Santos and Vânia Machado, specialists in learning disabilities, dyslexia, and early intervention, where I act as Project Co-ordinator. SOBIP was founded in 2004. Its main project, Growing Child Early Intervention Project (Projeto Crescente Criança de Intervenção Precoce), started in 2000 and is located at the nursery of Escola Espírita Cristã Maria de Nazaré, at Rocinha, Rio de Janeiro.

I currently work at Fondation Terre des hommes, a Swiss NGO that works on the promotion and defence of children and adolescents rights, with focus on street children in Brazil.

I always loved to write. Started with poetry, then poetic prose. Today, I like to write fantasy/fiction novels. All my stories have an element of supernatural or fantasy – sometimes, they are totally of fantasy. Although I have many unfinished stories, I finished two books: “Catedrais de gelo” (Cathedrals of Ice) and “In memoriam”, that was published at the internet publisher Papel & Virtual.

In 2005, I took part in a series of novels launched by Escala Publisher, produced for sales on newsstands. The idea was to begin a new series of pocket book novels with Brazilian female authors amongst the collaborators. It was really fun to write love stories set in Brazil, with Brazilian characters. The publisher decided to stop producing the series, but it was an amazingly fun experience.
