Out and About Down Under

Well here I am doing what I love. Being out and about exploring and enjoying the world. As an ancient Chinese proverb says "A man learns more from 100 miles of travel, than from 100 miles of scrolls."

The High Country of Victoria. Taking a break from troutfishing near a place called Angler's Rest north of Omeo in East Victoria where the Mitta Mitta River and Big River join. You can camp at one of the many campsites by the rivers or stay at the hotel at Angler's Rest. Either way you are in prime troutfishing country where you stand a good chance of catching trophy size trout.

The Flinders Ranges in northern South Australia are a popular spot to visit. After climbing a track to the top of Wilpena Pound I was glad the return was all downhill. I was sure glad I had taken plenty of water.

Myself and one of the lads on the water during yet another day in the sun at Lake Eildon. Lake Eildon is an hour and a bit north of Melbourne. It was created when the Goulburn River was dammed. It's a great troutfishing spot and has a healthy population of Murray Cod and redfin. Just after this photo was taken my mate caught a beautiful trout that was delicious later that night.

Myself, the rust bucket and the boat. Another beautiful morning camping in the Red Centre on my way up north to do some fishing. Camping out under the stars is an awesome experience. The sky is so clear that the billions of stars seem so close you could reach up and touch them. If the moon is out you even get shadows forming. Sensational.
