The temple was announced in April 1981.
Ground was broken and construction begun on 25 August 1982.
The cornerstone was laid and the temple dedicated on 25-27 September 1984.
There are 3 Sealing rooms and 4 Ordinance rooms in the 19,388 square foot temple.
The tallest (east center) spire is 115 feet tall.
The Manila Temple serves stakes in the Philippines, Micronesia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, India and part of Burma.
