The Sydney Australia Temple

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

The Sydney Temple was the last of the small single spire temples, most all of which were built in the south Pacific. With a temple in Sydney, the Australian saints no longer needed to make the long trek to New Zealand to do temple work. The Apia , Nuku'alofa, and Santiago, temples are copies of the Sydney Temple.

The temple was announced in April 1980.
Ground was broken and construction begun on 13 August 1982.
The cornerstone was laid and the temple dedicated on 20-23 September 1984.
There are 3 Sealing rooms and 2 Ordinance rooms in the 13,020 square foot temple.
The spire is 75 feet tall.
The Sydney Temple serves stakes in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

I have not yet found any pictures of the interior.
