The Dallas Texas Temple

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

The second of the larger six spired temples, the Dallas Temple, like the Boise and Chicago temples, was also too small and had to be expanded to over twice its original size just three years after its dedication.

The temple was announced in April 1981.
Ground was broken and construction begun on 22 January 1983.
The cornerstone was laid and the temple dedicated on 19-24 October 1984.
There are 3 Sealing and 5 Ordinance rooms in the temple.
before renovation there were 17.850 square feet, after renovation there are 42,383 square feet in the temple.
The tallest (east center) spire is 95 feet tall.
The Dallas Temple serves stakes in Texas, except the El Paso Region, parts of Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
