A SUMMARY OF MY RESEARCH

desk

Search: for

The following is a short summary of each of the names I am researching. Some I know a great deal about and others very little. There is nothing worse than having to plough your way through research that is of no interest so I have kept it to the very minimum.

My hope is that if you see something that could possibly be of use to you then you will e-mail me.

I do have a great many books etc. on the counties of Norfolk,Suffolk,Cambridge and Ireland..with Ireland is not so much knowing where the records are as how much it will cost you to get hold of them. Irish research can be costly and heartbreaking but not impossible.

My prize possessions are three Kelly's Directories;Norfolk,Suffolk & Cambridge 1900,Norfolk & Suffolk 1912 and Norfolk & Suffolk 1933, I also have the microfiche of Cambridgeshire Baptism and Burials 1801/1837.I have the Norfolk Members Interest Directory 1996(microfiche)and Kelly's Directory of Cambridgeshire 1883(microfiche).Even if you don't have any link with my names I will glady check these out for you.

A fascination with a photograph of a handsome young man in uniform, started me off on a long journey(metaphorically speaking!)from the fields of Norfolk to the Agean Sea.If you are interested in the life of a Norfolk country boy,or WW1 research, then this will help in both casesFrom Norfolk to Gallipoli

The idea of sharing books, maps etc. is one that the Internet was made for.

Books We Own is a useful site and has been started for EnglishCounties..the list of volunteers who will look up various records for you is growing nicely. If you have a book that you would like to share with fellow genealogists please please get it listed!
