Lesser Farur (Forur) is situated 67 km from Bandare Lenge and 65 km from Abu Musâ island, in the Persian Gulf.


This island is located between latitudes 26- 8' and 26- 6' N. and longitudes 54- 27' and 54- 26' E and is a part of Abu Musâ sub-province (one of six islands in Abu Musâ Island Group) and Hormozgán province in Iran. There is no habitation on this island.

This island  covers an area of 1.5 sq kms. The highest point on the island is 36 m above the sea. Like the other islands in the Persian Gulf enjoys warm and humid climate. The surface of lesser Farur is sandy, except for a section on the east side which is rocky.
