Witches have there own personal ways of writing and keeping their journals, or books of shadows. Some use a traditional approach and write everything out in a book. Some type out and save their journal on a computer. Some also use codes in their books to prevent others from reading their information.
A book of shadows, grimoire, etc., is a personal journal, and most of us are not comfortable sharing all of our information. Using a magickal alphabet to write some, or all of your information in your journal is a great way to keep it private.
Magickal alphabets have been traditionally used by witches and other practitioners to inscribe tools as well. If you plan to inscribe your athame, wand, your spell candles, or other tools you might use with words, you might enjoy using a magickal alphabet.
