organizers of Aurora Day decided to mine the talents of these local kids instead of hiring
the Musical Extravaganza from Bongabong or an unknown showband from Manila. And they took
the celebration on the streets, literally. |

In 1976, filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola went to Baler to shoot sequences from the
Vietnam War movie Apocalypse Now. His wife Eleonor kept a diary throughout the making of
the movie which was eventually published in 1979. |
