Lawry

Richard Lawry 24, Agr. Labourer from Cornwall, came 1853 on ship Magdalena with Elizabeth 20, Alice Mary 2 and Elizabeth A. 1 who died at sea. The ship Magdalena, 870 tons, Captain Brenton, from Southampton 23rd May 1853, arrived at Port Adelaide, South Australia 25th August 1853. Wife and Alice appear to also die in South Australia.

If you don't mind would like to correct a couple to your listings for my family.
1. Richard Lawry arrived in Melbourne 24 Dec 1854 on the Champion of the Seas. He sailed with his sister Elizabeth and her husband Francis Cargeeg. He married Mary Baker at Fryers Creek before moving to Cape Otway to run a cattle station (now part of the Cape Otway National Park). They had 5 sons (one buried at Cape Otway Lighthouse).

Richard Lawry was born 25 Nov 1823 (St Just in Penwith, Cornwall) to Thomas Lawry and Jane Penrose.
"Champion of the Seas" left Liverpool 10 Oct 1854 and arrived in Melbourne 24 Dec 1854. Was quarrentined for 3 days (due small pox). It also holds the record for the fastest sailing run from England to Australia of 72 days.
Mary Baker was born 12 Jan 1833 (Dinder, Somerset) to Charles Baker and Patience James and arrived in Australia in January 1855 on the Jan Van Hoorn
The 2nd point I would like to make is that Amy Matilda Daniel's parents
Giles Daniel and Jemima Wilkins were married 14 Mar 1853 at Little Scotland (Geelong) and had six girls and one boy. Giles arrived in Victoria in 1851 after 2 years in NSW. He returned to England in 1888 and married his sister in law Sarah Wilkins in Bristol, 1890.
I hope you won't be offended with this correction to your information especially about Richard Lawry. I believe the Richard Lawry you have with wife Elizabeth is a cousin whose father is John Lawry (brother to Thomas) and Mary Penrose. Elizabeth's surname would be Eastlake.
