Elijah Perriman 1860 - 25 June 1930 aged 69, is believed to be a son of Mathilda Moore (though his death certificate shows his mother as Susan Elizabeth Bell,) and William Perriman, who have 4 children's births recorded in Victoria. William Perriman wed 1848 #2060 to Matilda Husband by Presbyterian rites, parish of Melbourne and Geelong James Husband 28, 57 on list of single men, Butcher, Fife, Prot, came Jul 1840 on the Theresa William Perriman died 21 May 1906 when his age was believed to be 84, so born in 1822 in London England and wed 1854 in Launceston, Tasmania, to his first wife, Matilda Moore from Scotland, who appears to have died about 1862-4, maybe after the family returned to Tasmania. The children of Wm and Mathilda. (death dates from burial records, Melbourne General Cemetry) 1. Clarice Annie Perriman born 13 Sept 1906 Trafalgar, Vic Died 24 Oct 1981 William Perriman or Perryman (he used both spellings - one researcher thinks - from UK Berryman) said to have been born in 1822 but the age he was when he was married puts it at about 1827? he states on my grandfathers birth registration that he was born at Northampton Street London, Two different men William Perriman or Perryman appears to have been convicted at Somerset quarter sessions in 1831 and was transported to Tasmania departing Plymouth on 18 March 1831 Description: William Perryman, one of 250 convicts transported on the Argyle, 05 March 1831 to Van Diemen's Land Sentence Details: Convicted at Somerset Quarter Session for a term of 7 years on 18 October 1830. Tasmanian Archives Online database • CON14/1/2 Argyle Date of Departure: 05 March 1831, Arrival in Hobart town 4 Aug 1831, The Indent of the Argyle, with William Perryman on Page 41 and 42. The Argyle list ends on pages 61 and 62, with the last name shown is the first of list for William Glen Anderson arrived at VDL 1 Nov 1831 with 177 male and 2 female prisoners, being James Hadfield Smith aged 25, from Castleton, Derby, who got 14 years for stealing from a person. Hard to read the writing. I got William Perryman on Page 41, number 138, is 5 ft 2 and half tall, aged 23, Ploughman, tried by Som QS 18 Oct 1830, native of Kenton nr Exeter, Single, Protestant, Reads and writes. Mother Elizabeth Perryman at ?. In service. Offences this time stealing a pair of half boots, pair of shoes. 6 months and whipped Familysearch has an Extracted Christening that 'fits' the above - William Perryman Christening: 10 Oct 1802 at Kenton, Devon, England with mother Elizabeth Perryman
