PRESIDENTS REPORT

The MMR meeting this month will be held at Morris Garages once again (see last month’s newsletter) at 4 Scoresby Road Bayswater at 8.00pm. for an 8.15 start. There will be the usual video and coffee provided, but you will need to bring your own snacks and refreshments.
I think we might adjourn next door to the Bayswater Hotel for a few drinks later in the evening this time. ……………So if you arrive late to the meeting, you know where you’ll find us? …… Right.

The Morris Modified Register Website is looking really good with some additional pages being added recently. We now have the MMR report from each newsletter and later I will scan in and upload the articles as well. We still have a basic index on the home page and now also a separate Contents page has been added to help navigate your way through the site.
We’ve had quite a lot of ‘hits’ and no I’m not talking about hit records (Giles)……...a hit is when people who are surfing the net visit your Website. You can tell how many people have hit your site if you have a counter. The traffic has increased further since our Website was linked to the MMOC (UK) and the MMCCV Inc. (more recently). We even have our own email number…..Morrismodified@primus.com.au
We recently had an email enquiry from a young English modified enthusiast who showed some interest in joining our club! He says that he had been looking for a club like ours all over the world and that he was “gutted” (I suppose that means surprised in the UK) to find a Modified Minor Club in Australia!
He wanted to know if we could bring our Hot Morries over to race them………...Yeah, sure mate!
Our Website has just the other day been added as a link to the Minor Mania (USA) Website. This is an excellent site in that it caters for Modified or “bastardized” (as they refer to them) Morris Minor’s from all over the world.
If anyone would like to contribute an article (or photo’s) to this newsletter they would be most welcome, as I haven’t always got a lot of time these days to spent on this publication (I’m glad we made it every second month now!). I need more photographs of members cars to put in the MMR Newsletter and on the Website; as I want to develop the Photo gallery further.

PAST EVENTS:
David Stone attended the All British Rob Roy Hillclimb last month and Daryl and John Lloyd (Father) attended the Alfa Romeo Club’s Super Sprint at Sandown, I can’t tell you how they went as I haven’t had a chance to talk to them since these events.
COMING EVENTS:
We have two hillclimbs coming up that are, unfortunately, running on the same day. They are the Rob Roy Interclub (second round) and the Morwell Hillclimbs held on the 10th of Sept. I would highly recommend the Morwell Hillclimb over the Rob Roy event this year, as the MG’s and Mini’s will be there and we haven’t run there before (I’m running my MGB) (contact Daryl for an entry).
