Although Margie Tsang has the potential to achieve more in the
entertainment industry, she gave up a promising career all for love.
She handled her love life and marriage at a very low key by keeping news
about her courtship and marriage to a minimum. However, Margie cannot
escape from the media now that she is having a baby. To get away from
the media, Margie had no choice but to leave her newborn son at the
hospital and return home first to get some rest.
After the baby was born, Margie immediately transferred to a different
hospital. One of the reason was to avoid the media, and the other
reason was because some womb fluid has got into the baby's lungs. The
baby can be taken better care of by Margie's doctor brother at the new
hospital.
Margie tells the reporter that it is better that the baby stays at the
hospital because she really don't know how to take care of him yet. She
wants to wait until the baby's embryological cord falls off before she
takes him home (it takes an average of 10 days for a newborn's
embroyical cord to fall off) because she doesn't know how to bathe him
with the embroyical cord still attached. She will bring her breast milk
to the hospital to feed the baby. She doesn't know how long she will
breast feed, but she wants the baby to be healthly.
Margie says the first thing she has to do when she gets home is to get a
good rest because her body is very tired after having a baby. As to her
diet, Margie hopes she will produce more breast milk by drinking more
fish broth. The reporter then asked Margie how she felt when she first
breast feed the baby. After hearing the question Margie laughed and
replied that she felt a little embarassed at first but the feeling was
very special; she felt very, very close to her baby.

All small and large presses have been in a frantic for Margie's latest news since she gave birth to her baby son. Margie has even
admitted that she cannot tolerate the media always following her, so she decided to leave the hospital to get some rest at home.
She will have to part with her newborn for two days until the baby is ready to go home.
Margie's husband arrived at the hospital around 5 in the evening to pick her up. They feed and changed diapers for the baby before
leaving at 7 pm. Because it was the first time for the both of them, they were all thumbs when trying to change diapers for the baby.
Margie claims that she has always been a low key person, she did not expect to be chased by the media like that just because she
had a baby. She begs the media not to follow her anymore and promises that when her son reaches one month old, she will send
photos all the press as well as let them take family pictures.
Despite all this, 4 cars were still spotted following Margie and her husband's car when they were travelling home. When they almost
reached Margie's resident, she got out of the car to ask the reporters not to follow her. She tells them she has been very cooperative
already and that there is really nothing left to report. She ask the reporters not to upset her because she is a patient who is in
desparate need of rest. After that, the reporters were cooperative and gave up following Margie home in the end.

Starting from the day Margie gave birth to her baby, the media is very
concern about her condition and has been waiting outside Margie's
hospital room the past few days. Together with her husband, Margie
finally meets with the media this afternoon to talk about what it is
like to be parents for the first time.
To meet with everyone, Margie took time to do her makeup and wore a
black one piece dress. Although she still appears to be a little chubby
after giving birth, her face was glowing with happiness. She tells
everyone that for certain she is not affected by any post pregnancy
depression syndrom, rather, she only suffers post pregnancy overly
joyous syndrom. Thinking back to the time she spent in the delivery
room, she felt that she was very brave and tough. After 10 plus hours
of giving natural birth, she was drained of energy when the baby was
finally born. She describes the first thought that came into her mind
when the doctors showed her the baby was: 'Wow! How come the baby is so
big?'
The reporters then asked Margie's husband how he will repay his wife for
enduring so much pain to have his child. He said anything she wants is
fine. He remembers being excited and scared at the same time when he
was in the delivery room. When he saw how much pain Margie was in, he
was so touched, he almost cried.
As for the baby's name, Margie said they are in no rush to naming the
baby. She will just call him little cutie guy for now. Because many
reporters have beening waiting outside her room the past few days, it
has been very difficult for Margie to visit her baby. Before meeting
with the press this afternoon, she has only gotten the chance to see her
son once. From what she remembers, the baby looks more like her
husband, but later Margie said the baby looks like both of them.
Margie is told about a specialist predicting that the baby will bring
his parents good luck as well as possessing qualities to become an artiste
when he grows up. Margie said she will let her son choose his own
career, but she hopes he will not choose to be in the entertainment
industry.
Prior to going into labour, Margie always brought along three items with
her whenever she leaves the home. The first item is a suitcase, the
second is a camcorder, and the third is a Baby's Box. A Baby's Box is
for storing the embryological cord which can be kept frozen for many
years. Should her child become ill later in life, the blood from the
embryological cord can be used to save his life. Of course, she hopes
that she will never have to use it.
Margie confirmed that she will choose to breast her baby and is not
afraid that her figure will change because of that. She believe she
will not have trouble losing weight since she plans to take care of the
baby herself. That alone will take up alot of time and energy.
Margie's older brother, who is a doctor at Ma Lai Hospital, is often
seen entering his sister's hospital room. He reassures everyone that
Margie is not ill. The reason for his frequent visits is because he has
to deliver food to his sister. After giving birth, Margie has a very
good appetite, besides the regular hospital meals, she has to eat
porridge as well as a couple of BBQ pork buns. He also said that the
baby's health is improving even though some womb fluid has got into his
lungs. Seeing the reporters working so hard, Margie's brother tried to
convince them to go for supper and not wait outside Margie's room
anymore. He said even though he's a doctor, his job is not a tiring as
the reporters'.

Margie Tsang gave birth to a 8 lb baby at Yan On Hospital in Sha Tin on
January 1 at 2:00 in the afternoon. Inorder to escape from the media's
questioning, Margie and her newborn baby left in the middle of the night
to transfer to a hospital in Hong Kong Island. Although she tried to be
as discreet as possible, she was still discovered by the reporters. In
the end, Margie agreed to be interviewed about how she felt being be a
new mother. Her husband was by her side the whole time and even
recorded the giving birth process using a camcorder.
When the reporters heard that Margie has already went into labour, they
immediately rushed to Yan On Hospital. Unfortunately, they were told by
the hospital staff that Margie has left the hospital. One of the reason
being that she has already been found out the the reporters. Margie's
older brother, a doctor at Yan On Hospital, told reporters that Margie
wanted to keep a low profile and did not want to be interviewed. The
reporters then remembered that Margie has another brother who is a
doctor at Ma Lai Hospital in Hong Kong Island. They decided to try
their luck at Ma Lai to see if they could find Margie. After some
searching, the reporters found out that Margie was indeed at Ma Lai and
was staying in a first class room. In order to be discreet, she refused
to accept any flowers or gifts. Margie's husband, mother in law, and
some friends started to arrive at one the afternoon to visit. Smiling
the whole time, Margie's husband Stephen could not hide his happiness.
About 3 pm, Margie was brought to see the baby in a wheelchair. She
still looked swelled up and very tired. When she saw that reporters
were taking pictures, she immediately asked them not to as she is not in
her best appearence. But she was cooperative by letting the reporters
interview her.
Margie said that although she used local anesthesia to reduce the pain,
she said the process was very painful, it hurted so much she cannot
describe it. If she were to rate the pain, would be a 10. She was in
labour for 10 hours before the baby was born. Margie was asked if her
husband was by her side to give her support? She said that he was
recording the whole process on a video camcorder, he looked very scared,
and if she had grabbed on to him when she screamed, he would be in more
pain than her. Because the anesthesia did not completely fade away, she
felt very dizzy after giving birth. Margie said that she will breast
feed the baby because people tell her it's much healthier for the baby.
She has not thought about having a second child yet.
Margie gained 40 pounds before giving birth, however she does not want
to tell how much she weights now. Her husband was close by with a
camcorder in his hands, ready to shoot more videos of his adorable new
son. When reporters suggested that the three take a family picture
together, Stephen refused saying he did not want pictures of his son
exposed until he reaches one month old.
Margie's brother and Stephen later explained that the reason Margie
tranferred to a different hospital was because some of the fluid from
the womb has got into the baby's lungs, (Ma Lai Hospital specializes in
lung and heart treatments), however, the condition has gotten better and
the baby is now in good health. They told reporters that Margie will
hold a press conference at a later date to share her joy with the media.
[Jen: From Oriental Daily today, Margie was very unhappy that
Apple had printed those pictures of her in the newspaper even though
they agreed not to. Its totally understand since she had just endured
10 painful hours in the delivery room. So... we have decided
not to put those pictures on the webpage since Margie is so against it. ]

It's a boy!
Congratulations! Margie gave birth to a healthy baby boy!
Although Margie's due date was in late December, many well meaning friends hoped that she would have the baby on midnight of
New Years Eve, so the baby could be the first to be born in the year 1999. However Margie did not considered having a C-Section to
bring to baby into the world earlier. As a result, the baby arrived several days later than expected. The white and chubby 8 lb. baby
was born on Jan.1 at 2:00 pm in Hong Kong.
Margie was accompanied by her husband Stephen Lam early yesterday morning to go into labour. Stephen anxiously waited outside
the delivery room the whole time and when he was given the good news, he immediately rushed into the delivery room. Stephen has
always been a low key person and was not ready answer all the questions reporters had for him. But it was obvious he was very
delighted about being a father for the first time.
Because Margie gave natural birth, she was very tired after the baby was born. She hopes to recouperate first before she tells
everyone how she feels about being a mother for the first time. All the reporters were very understanding and wished that Margie get
a good rest before she meets with the public again.
