   Eaton, Donna Lynn: Died April 22, 1994 when the transport helicopter crashed into a mountain during bad weather en route from Winston-Salem, North Carolina/USA. Donna was a certified critical care and emergency nurse who joined the AirCare crew in 1987.     Ellington, Alda: Died April 10, 2001 as a result of a beating while admitting a
patient to a psychiatric hospital in St. Lucie, Florida/USA. Alda was 47 and had been
a nurse for 25 years. The attack occurred around 2 am. Two elderly patients were
also severly beaten. Alda's family described her as an advocate of the mentally ill
who would have urged forgiveness and understanding of the attacker. A friend
noted that she was an impeccable person, both personally and professionally. There were conflicting reports as to whether the hospital was properly (safely)

   Ethridge, Lynn: Died July 17, 1999 as a member of a helicopter transport team for Hermann Hospital Life Flight. The helicopter crashed just south of Houston, Texas/USA while on its way to pick up a hospitalized patient. She was described by an EMS executive as an excellent medic who was never scared to venture forth and do what was necessary for the patient. Lynn was 35 and is survived by her life partner.     Feldmann, Leslie, K.: Died December 14, 1997 when a transport helicopter of Aurora, Colorado/USA struck electrical wires upon take-off from an accident scene. Leslie, 33, had become a flight nurse five years earlier. She was an ACLS instructor and active in education in the emergency medical services community.     Fuss Brown, Joan: Died: December 20, 1985 during the crash of the Air Care helicopter en route to Ainsworth to transfer an eight-year-old child injured in a sledding accident to an Omaha, Nebraska/USA hospital. Bad weather was reported at the time. She had volunteered to go along on this her first flight as an extra pair of hands, and had worked as a full-time intensive care nurse at Good Samaritan for four months.
