Commanche Pulse Rifle
The Commanche Pulse Rifle was initially designed for Special Operations Forces, such as the UCAS Rangers, or the UCAS Seal Teams. After trial periods, the UCAS government didn't purchase the entire stock of Pulse Rifles, stating that they were too unreliable for combat purposes. They did however purchase over 5,000 Rifles for use in urban situations. The Pulse rifle is unique to other assault rifles, in that it is a high velocity low caliber round. The recoil factors are reduced greatly. Another great feature of the Pulse Rifle is that is holds 100 rounds of specially designed, although costly, type of caseless ammunition. The Pulse Rifle was adopted by several major security companies and MetroPlex Guards. The security features on the rifle appeal to Law Enforcement Agencies.
CON TYPE AMMO DAMAGE MODES COST AVAIL STR/IDX 3 LMG 100c 2L BF/FA* 7,200 16/Yr 6 GL 20m ** SA (*) - Modes are generated specially. The Pulse Rifle is incapable of firing a single round, unless only one round remains. It's burst mode fires 6 rounds and it's Full Auto Feature fires up to 25 Rounds. Treat a 6 Round Burst as a SINGLE Shot and Full Auto Burst as Normal, save that 6 rounds equal 1 round for recoil purposes. Treat every two rounds as one for staging damage. Hence on FA, the max damage is 14D. (**)- Damage for the Ultra-mini grenades are staged down one Level, hence a grenade that would normally do 12S, now does 12M.Accessories: The Pulse Rifle comes with an integral laser sight, Integrated Biometrical Security Handle, and an Ultra-sound sight. The Ultra-Mini grenade launcher has a built in range finder.
Drawbacks: The Pulse Rifle cannot handle additional accessories without suffering recoil penalties. This rifle was designed to fire many rounds with low recoil. An additional drawback is that each rifle has a "key" which enables the rifles firing mode. If you don't have a key, the weapon is useless.
Ammunition: Cost for ammunition is high. As the weapon fires specially designed rounds in special clips, you must purchase rounds by the 100 rnd Clip at a cost of 500 nuyen. If the character saves his clips, he can have an armorer or gunsmith reload the clips for 400 nuyen, or if the character has a Firearm (B/R) and a Firearm Shop, they can reload for themselves at 250 nuyen. Empty clips cost 100 nuyen. Target number for reloading is 5 and the base time for one clip is six hours. Every two successes reduce the time by 30 minutes. Achieving no successes means that the clip was improperly loaded and has been broken. Rounds may be recovered, but the clip is useless.
<-------Fireman, 20:34 01/23/49---------Wiz chummers, finally an assault rifle that just plows down everything in front of it. If the bullets don't getcha those minigrenades will.>
<-------Raider, 08:10 02/02/49---------Yeah, wiz alright...let's pay 500 nuyen for a clip of rounds that I'll expend in eight seconds. And that damn key thing. I forgot to activate it once and nearly got geeked.>
<-------RoadWarrior 10:15 11/11/50------It's been over a year since I've heard about this ultimate weapon, but can't seem to find the drekking thing anywhere. My merc contacts just look at me like I'm stupid when I ask for it.>
<------Fireman, 13:13 11/11/50-------Maybe you just look stupid.>

Squad Assault Rifle (SAW)
The Squad Assault Rifle was designed as a Medium Machine Gun, but smaller. It is designed for heavy infantry squads or teams that require heavy firepower, but cannot afford to be weighed down with the hassles of a large weapon. The SAW is that weapon. It is currently the weapon of choice with the UCAS Army, and also in use by the UCAS Rangers. It is a military grade weapon and is difficult to find on the streets.
CON TYPE AMMO DAMAGE MODES COST AVAIL STR/IDX -- MMG 50B 8S FA* 5,000 9/Month 4 (*) - The SAW is only capable of Full Auto Fire. It can fire up to 20 rounds per trigger pull and can be controlled to 3 round bursts.
Accessories: The Squad Assault Rifle comes standard with GAS Vents IV, Shock Pad, and an integrated attachment for GyroMounts. The SAW also has a folding bipod on the barrel.
Drawbacks: Firing fully automatic all the time can get costly. The SAW cannot mount over or under barrel accessories. It can, however, accept Smart Links and other internal items.
<-----Electra, 11:12, 2/14/49---------Quality grade weapon. The merc's that I know eat this stuff up. The SAW has been around a while, and there's a good reason for it.---->
<-----Grumpy Joe, 14:10, 3/16/49--------Yeah, they've been around for a while! That's because the company that built them made too many!------->
The Emerson Close Quarters Combat knife is the best folding knife of it's kind. When they were first made in the early 1960's each knife was handcrafted and guaranteed for life. The same holds true in 2050. Each knife comes with a life time warantee. With modern day polymers and highly durable steel, this is the best nonmolecular blade in existence.

The SRU-54 was designed specifically with underwater rescue in mind. It's cutting edge will rip through most multiplastics and even tear through some light armor. (Reduce barrier level by half, as long as the knife has penetrated it.) Not only is the blade designed for cutting, but also durability. It can withstand strong acids and most chemicals with little effect on it's handle or edge.
<----Weeblo 02:15 04/17/49-----Yeah it's acid proof alright. Assuming you wipe the acid off as it bagins to touch the blade. I had one and accidentally left it at the bottom of the swimming pool.....needless to say the blade has surface rust in the morning.---->
<----BackDraft 03:22 05/11/49-----We won't ask what you were doing at the bottom of the swimming pool with your knife.---->

It comes in standard black with level I recoil compensators. It has a fitting which allows for a silencer to be attached easily (Simple Action). It also comes standard with an integral laser sight. Model 12: The modifications to this weapon were made to the magazine receiver. The receiver was elongated and widened to accept different clips. Model 14: An overall design change. Some troops consider this the mini-HK. It still has all the features of the Mdl 10. Model 15: This is the weapon of choice for most SPECWAR types. It is capable of firing in all modes. It's clips are interchangable with the Mdl 12. It has level IV recoil compensation, due to a hold on bar, gas vents, and a recoil pad. It has a slighly longer barrel, and it's a bit wider, thus harder to conceal. Model 22: This is a hold-out pistol, that does hard damage. The ammunition is limited, and it is magazine fed, making it a bit harder to reload in combat. This weapon was designed to be hidden on or near operatives during covert operations. It cannot accept any accessories and comes with none.
Combat Rubber Raiding Craft (CRRC)
The CRRC is a harden rubber combat raft, designed for up to five troops, and their equipment, to deploy into areas only accessable by water. It is equipped with a modified outboard engine, which was designed for stealth more than speed.
By far the most effective attack vehicle in use by many nations. The NAN uses the FAV in many of the desert regions, to include Yakima. The UCAS and the CAS have recently been using the FAV with their QRF (Quick Response Forces), as they are drop capable and can be configured in many ways. FAV's can mount missle launchers, as well as Heavy Machine Guns. The CAS has developed a unit of FAV's that are strictly tank killers, while the border patrol of Aztlan mounts assault cannons.

Accessories:
Crash cage, Integrated controls, and special headlight package. (Border patrols equip their FAV's with WhiteLamps).
This is the only known motorcycle to be virtually silent. It was designed for military recon missions deep into enemy territories. Daniel Gessup designed the motor and the silencing system. The bike has many restrictions, but is quite state of the art and every gang member would love to have one.
BODY HDL SPEED ARMOR SIG COST AVAIL 1 2/3 80/160 2 7 120,000 10/Year
The design specifications for the silencers are still highly classified, and taking them apart hasn't resulted in anyone being able to copy them. Gessup let the rumors fly about "magic mufflers", and some people still take them seriously. The engine covers and containment plastics mask heat effective enough that it alters the signature of the motorcycle considerably. The Gessup production line produces approximately 14 motorcycles a year. Daniel Gessup doesn't make these exclusively for the military, actually he prefers not to sell them to the military. When he first designed the system he built a hundred of them and strapped them on various types of dirt bikes and sold them to the military. Now he produces, not only the Scout Motorcycle, but larger street models. These are specially custom made for the owner. He personally designs the motorcycle and oversees them being built, at a cost. He will not sell the silencer system to anyone by itself. The most popular Street Model Gessup is the Lightwind 3000.

** Cost is negotiable and based upon design and features of any particular bike. The base price for most motorcycles is right around 120,000 nuyen.
This particular model is somewhat large, but sleek. It comes standard with the silencer mechanisms, and has two firmpoints. It is equipped with hard lockable storage containers, one CF each and there are three. This cycle can accept a sidecar if that is specified during the design phase.
This underwater delivery system has been in use by special swim teams for nearly seventy years. The original design was built to deliver special operatives into areas underwater. The SDV provides oxygen for up to three swimmers at a time, and can drag up to five without suffering any speed penalties. In additional to supplying oxygen, the SDV is equipped with positional monitors and limited sensors. The SDV has 2 CF of storage, which can only be accessed from the top of the vehicle.
BODY SPEED ARMOR SENSORS COST AVAIL 1 15/25* 1 2 22,000 8/Month (*) - Surface speeds are 25/40. Swimmers must make rolls (TGT #4) to maintain a hold on the SDV. Drivers don't need to make the save. Swimmers above the initial 3 will make rolls (TGT #5) to keep hold. The Target numbers increase by 1 for every km per hour above 15 KPH, except for the driver.
The SDV has many additional features. The main feature is that it has a Signature of 9 while underwater and does not reveal any bubbles, unless a diver is using his own oxygen, which would be releasing bubbles. Above water the SDV has a Signature of 2, and is very loud, as it was not meant for surface travelling.
The SDV is a large vehicle, but can be carried by four individuals. Usually they are carried on boats, such as the SOC V. Some submarines are designed with platforms to launch several SDV's, although the risk is high.
<--------TerryJoe 20:51 01/05/50---Carried by four?!? Maybe for a ten or so yards. It may not be really heavy, but the damn thing is so awkward.------->
<--------PhiniusJWhoopie 19:19 02/12/50---They are sound and very quiet as long as they are submerged. The range is fairly limited, but how far do you need to go underwater.
The MK V SOC (Special Operations Craft) is nothing more than a Military Vessel used as a platform to launch special operatives into hostile areas. The standard MK V SOC can carry four SDV's and four CRRC's. The ship itself has two turrets, one fore and one aft. Each are equipped with dual H&K MMH-50 Heavy Machine Guns. An AA launcher is mounted ontop of the enclosed bridge. The crew of this ship is seven and it's cargo capacity is 6000 CF.
Parachuting is still a widely accepted means of delivering combat troops and special operatives into various locations around the world The only technical differences between the foil and the standard chute are manueverabilty and durability. The parafoil is much more manueverable, while the parachute is much more durable. Parafoils are used for HALO jumps (High Altitude Low Opening), and standard chutes are used for HAHO jumps (High Altitude High Opening Jumps). Using a parachute that is rigged to a static line required no skill to use. For HALO and HAHO jumping a special skill of PARACHUTING is required. Manuevering without the skill uses the characters Strength with a plus four to target numbers, so if you don't know how to parachute don't try tricky manuevering.

Seal Vest
The Seal vest is a multipockets lightweight armored vest. It has a cumulative rating of +2 ballistic rate to any shots to the chest/stomach/back areas. In addition to providing lightweight armor, it also has four CO2 cannisters on it, enabling the vest to be inflated for floating. It takes one cannister to fill the vest to make it floatable, thus the vest can be floated four times before needing the CO2 refilled. The vest has a built in holster and six magazine pocket (3 dedicated to rifle clips and 3 dedicated for pistol clips). Several clips for D-Ring attachments are located on the front and back of the vest....to help connect the wearer to an SDV or to a rope lowered by a helicopter.

<-----Mariner 05:32 06/17/49------I was using one of these things while trying to sneak on a ship leaving Seattle. I was swimming underwater with an oxygen tank to avoid being seen and accidentally inflated the drekken thing. I surfaced like a missle. I couldn't deflate it and the armor prevented me from cutting it.----->
<-----Atlas 03:12 06/23/49-----Did you try opening the release valves?---->
<-----Mariner 05:32 06/23/49-----It has release valves!!! Now you tell me.----->
The Ranger Vest comes in a variety of configurations, as it was designed as a tool. The belt and harness is designed to attach ammo pouches, holsters, grenades, radios, knives, med kits, and just about anything else that can be put in some type of small pouch. Canteens and chemical protective gear are also attached. The Ranger vest is equipped with a standard harness belt for use in rappelling and ascending techniques. D Rings and other acuterments can be easily attached as well. The standard Ranger Vest comes with (2) Ammo Pouches, (2) Canteens), (1) Pistol holster, (1) knife holster, (2) Medical Pouches, (1) Butt pack. Unlike the Seal Vest, this vest provides an Armor/Ballistic rate of 2/2.

<----Aussie 17:56 12/13/53-----Actually, yes you do. Beady eyes and everything. I do agree with you though. You can have so many pouches on this vest that you forget where everything is. The armor ratings not too bad either.----->
If you're in the market for a new pair of boots and have the nuyen, stop in to your local Army Surplus and see if they can order you a pair. These boots are the lightest, most strongest combat boot on the market. They provide an Armor Rating of 1 (for feet only), and an Impact Rating of 6 (for feet only). The boots are slightly higher than standard military boots, providing protection nearly halfway to the knee. They use standard laces, but have the quick release zipper on the side. They are waterproof and allow the feet to breath normally. These boots are available in two models, the Hot Climate and Cold Climate versions.

The E-BDU's have been on the market for nearly three years and still have yet to be issued to any regular army. They are designed for more than protection and camouflage. The E-BDU's are designed to block IR/Thermal emissions from being detected via Thermal Imaging, including natural vision.
<------NightMare 03:03 2/23/49------They work real well to block the thermal spectrums, but too bad they don't cover your big head!!!!------->
Scuba gear and other package deals of diving gear are still available in 2050. Nothing much has changed over the years, as far as the styles of equipment, however the weight of the gear is lighter and the amount of oxygen that can be carried is significantly larger. These packs are sold in several package deals.
Package One: Standard Wet Suit, One Tank, 2 Tank Harness, Sinker belt, mask, rebreather, fins, and utility belt....................1,200 Nuyen
Package Two: Standard Wet Suit, Two Tanks, 2 Tank Harness, Sinker belt, mask, rebreather, fins, depth gauge, and utility belt...........1,500 Nuyen
Extra Tanks............300 Nuyen
Each standard tank holds approximately two hours of breathable oxygen and can be recharged for 50 nuyen. Tanks are available with more breathable oxygen....costs vary.
Wet Suits
The fine makers of BattleTech made some minor modifications for the system, especially for underwater use. It now has features that enable the diver to ascertain current speeds, tempertatures, current depths, and even the amount of breathable oxygen he has left. Oh, did I mention that the enhanced upgrade also makes it waterproof to 2000 meters. Unlike the other BattleTech system, which was designed for the military, this one takes utilizes no skill to use. You just turn it on and it tell you what it know, through other peoples input. If you want to enter something, it has very detailed graphic support that actually assists the person with the data input. For the sake of game purposes, a person using an Enhanced BattleTech system has a Small Unit Tactics skill of 3, plus the standard benefits of using the system.
