PRESS BOXES OF THE LEAGUE |
|
Canton
|
The press box location at Memorial Field in Canton is located outside of the box and directly adjacent to it. The press box itself is suitable in size. Overall, a great location. |
Foxboro
|
An excellent vantage point exists at Ahern
Field in Foxboro. The press area here has been completely redone. This press
box is the only one where there is a roof overhead.
|
Franklin
|
Pisini Field in Franklin has a great energy
about it. The press box has been redone here. For a real
treat, prior to the game, check out P.A. announcer John Padula as he sings
the National Anthem from the press box.

King Philip
|
Here is the new press box at Macktaz Field in Wrentham. It certainly looks like a sparkling place. I have not been here yet, so when I get over there I'll give you a full report!! Thanks to Tom Howard for sending over this pic. |
Mansfield
|
The top press box illustrated here is that of
Memorial Park in Mansfield. It's a terrific location here. There is an
extended platform above the press box level with plenty of room and
electricity, everything that is needed to do a first class production of the
game. Also, Mansfield has a brand new field adjacent to Memorial Park
(Alumni Field) which is their primary field. This
field has artificial turf-and the new press box at this field is displayed
as the bottom photograph. Note the name J. Spencer Kelley- he did
play-by-play in Mansfield for a good number of years before his untimely
passing.

North Attleboro
|
Want to see a football crazy town juiced up in
a neighborhood stadium? Then Community Field in North Attleboro is a must.
The press box at Community Field is located as the top picture here. The
stadium is electric. Press are high above field level here, on a platform above the
press level, very similar to Mansfield and K.P. The view is quite good. A
large oak tree obstructs a portion of the north end zone, which adds to the
ambience. North usually has a winning record, so the fans really get into it
here. The bottom photograph is the press box at Beaupre Field, located at
North Attleboro High School. The press
area is very roomy, with plenty of space around the bleacher area to do a
broadcast from. North Attleboro's AD, Paul Sullivan told me that they
like to play games in November and December at this field because it's
warmer for the fans (no lights here) and all games here are played in the
afternoon. North Attleboro's first game at Beaupre Field was on October 4,
1975, as they beat Foxboro 41-25.

Oliver Ames
|
Val Muscato Stadium in Easton, home of the
Oliver Ames Tigers, presents some unique possibilities for broadcasting. The
press box itself is typically full on game day, and the extended wing of the
press box fills up quickly with coaching staffs and media people.
|
Sharon
|
It is always fun to broadcast football in
Sharon. There are no lights here so all games are played in the
afternoon. The press area is reserved for Sharon's cable crew and for the
coaching staffs. An item of note- check out the awesome foliage around the
stadium as you enter. It is breathtaking.

Stoughton
|
Anthony Sarno Field is Stoughton's home field. It is believed by this observer that Stoughton has the best lit field in the league. For a really fun experience, take in the legendary voice of Stoughton's esteemed P.A. announcer, Joe Dawe. |
