The nation was officially founded in 1999 via a declaration of the will of the people. Since then, the nation has adopted a constitution and begun work on various titles outlining the specific laws by which our people govern themselves.

The laws currently adopted by the Metis Nation of the South include:

• Title 1 Constitution
• Title 2 National Sovereignty Act
• Title 3 National Civil Rights Act
• Title 4 National Enrollment Act
