How to Choose a Language School

Supergrammar's plans
Ideas for Marketing Super Grammar and Ts-to-Ts
FROM A NEWSPAPER ARTICLE ABOUT TEACHING ENGLISH IN ASIA

===============
The key point:

English classes are one of the boom businesses in Asia, usually
taught by nonnative speakers. From Cambodia to Indonesia, no education is complete today without the study of English.

======================================================

"nonnative speaker" I guess means .
... "a speaker of English who is not native to the Asian country..."
or

"a person whose first language is not English."

confusing....

HOWEVER, the point is that there are lots of schools that need video tapes and grammar lessons and worksheets and

IF CARY creates the grammar worksheet, TONY and STEVE can put together the video and camera shots  :-).... what do you think?

Potential products
a) CD roms with grammar sheets  (supplemented by a photo on each sheet)

b)  teaching techniques (for the teachers) on Video and on CD rom
NTSC and PAL formats...

c)  videos about TALK  school, video dictations.  (on videotape and CD rom)

d)  at least put some videos in ENGLISH on the internet (TALK web site) for students to practice with?  (we have started putting students on the web talking in their own language)

1.  HOW do we get a list of schools (with addresses) in those countries... (internet?)

2.  Is it worth it to mail a sample CD and video?  Do those schools have  there be orders?

3.  could those schools eventually send students to TALK intl in Florida?  (or most of those Asian students want to go to california?)

4.  we know that the schools will copy the materials and maybe that's the best kind of marketing...  just make sure there is a label that reads "For more information, contact www.supergrammar.com"  :-)

Cary's reply

Steve,
Brief response to your questions as below:

1.  HOW do we get a list of schools (with addresses) in those countries...
(internet?)>>> YES. Look at schools offering teaching jobs

2.  Is it worth it to mail a sample CD and video?>>>  I think just the supergrammar sampler might suffice (Keep costs down)

3.  could those schools eventually send students to TALK intl in Florida?
(or most of those Asian students want to go to California?)>>>  Florida is a longer, more expensive stretch. Might appeal to the more moneyed students.

4.  we know that the schools will copy the materials and maybe that's the
best kind of marketing...  just make sure there is a label that reads "For
more information, contact www.supergrammar.com"  :-)

Can we contact teachers going to Asia (or wherever) to a) buy the materials or b) act as agents for us?

C
I'd like TONY to see your reply....

I assume that Tony has your materials and that he's preparing them for a "sample CD"  (with 10 worksheets, and an order form that reads "YOU CAN HAVE 150 SHEETS LIKE THIS JUST BY ORDERING THIS FOR _________ dollars"

Then maybe a credit card form?  I have a friend who can take credit card orders over the internet....

Steve
