Iced Tea -- Southern Style

Absolutely no southern home is complete without a pitcher of iced tea on the table at dinnertime. There is no excuse for not doing this either. Any respectible southerner will always offer you a glass of freshly made iced tea. If they don't, be wary! They may be a southerner by the way of the north.

SUN TEA

Boil about two cups of water. Put approximately one cup of white sugar in a 2 quart pitcher. Stir in the boiled water until the sugar is dissolved. Add 6 regular tea bags. Cover and set outside in the sun until the tea reaches a nice deep amber color. Fill rest of pitcher with ice cold water. Put some ice cubes in your glass and pour the tea. Oh yes, remove all the tea bags. Be sure to mix fresh tea every day. Old tea is bad for you and tastes awful. Keep refrigerated.
