Daniel Backway christened St Ann Limehouse 1830 born 1824 son of Daniel Williams Backway waterman & Elizabeth his wife of Limehouse. Daniel Williams Backway married Elizabeth Margaret Fricke at St George in the East 1815. Their other children:- Mary 1816, Benjamin c 1830 b 1820, Sarah b 1822 c 1830 married 1850 George Brown, William b 1830 c 1830 buried 1831.

Daniel Williams Backway c 1784 St Mary Whitechapel son of John Backway cooper and Mary his wife of High St Whitechapel. Their other children William 1769, John 1770, Rebecca 1772, Thomas 1773, Benjamin 1775, Amy 1779, Elizabeth 1779, James 1776, Susanna 1781 & George 1782.

John Backway cooper married three times in 1761 at St Mary Aldermary to Rachel Cockshaw, in 1768 at St Mary Aldermary City of London as widower to Mary Blair and in 1791 at St Bartholemew to Amelia daughter of John Head and widow of Graveley Seaborne. All his known children are his second wife's.

Mary Blair was baptised St Mary Whitechapel 1749 daughter of John Blare & Elizabeth his wife. He married Elelizabeth Hill St Mary Whitechapel 1747. Their otrher children :- John 1748, Elizabeth 1751, Ann Randall 1752 & Sarah 1754

Elizabeth Margaret Fricke was baptised St Dunstan Stepney in 1796 daughter John Fricke corkcutter or carpenter of Poplar and Mary his wife. John & Mary's other children :- Sarah 1781, John William 1782, Mary Elizabeth 1785, Ellen 1786, Mary Eleanor 1787.

Enoch Alexender Bailey

Dear Elizabeth,

I am doing a little family history research and I find that Enoch Bailey and Eliza Tait are my great grand parents. I can see a concentration of their family around Korumburra. My father Francis Norman Bailey (known as Tim) was born in Korumburra and when I was very young we would visit his cousins there. The house was in hills above the town and surrounded by a high hedge. I also used to visit the Barrots in Noble Park where according to my records. Enoch and Eliza died in 1918 at Noble Park.
If you are interested in any details I could fill you in.

Last night I got a picture of the ship the OROYA that they sailed in, can not believe at last found a living relative. I live in a small village in Nottinghamshire England, Hope we keep in touch,
