a) How do people get money from a bank in your country?
I think that in Venezuela it is not easy to get money from a bank. The people need a lot of requirements like references, balances of accounts and a very good salary to apply for a loan.

b) Do you have any questions about the banking system in the USA?
No I don’t, because fortunately we have a cousin in the USA banking system, who is our financial adviser and helps us in it.

c) What surprised you when you came to the USA about money? about banks?
I think that if you have a good behavior in paying your loans on time, it will be easy to get financial services in the future.

d) What is the interest rate in your country for a house mortgage?
It is variable, but usually it’s very high. The people can’t pay it and they prefer to rent a house or apartment.

e) Describe a problem that you had in the USA.
We had a problem some time ago, when we sold an apartment and the tax authorities did a wrong retained of 10%.

f) What did you do?
We had to wait for about 6 months, when finally they returned the money.

g) Do you have any recommendations?
It’s better to be informed about the right way to do any business in this country, especially with the taxes. It’s safe to have a good financial adviser or friend who provides you with right and enough advices.
