Little Things that make go Hmmm......

Whew, I am almost caught up with April. I am not used to RJ being on so much and having so much dialogue. April, by far has been a favorite month for me.

Any scene with RJ and Dorian is powerful. I just love though how Dorian manages to turn RJ's stint in jail into all about her. I would have thought that when Dorian had followed him to his cell that it was out of her concern for him. Once she saw that RJ was okay, the rest of her visit was about her, how Dorian. I will admit though that it was nice that towards the end of her visit that Dorian offered to pay his bail. Ah, that is why I am here, to help my friend RJ. I think what I liked about these two is they see themselves as these town pariahs, yet they weren't throwing a pity party. Nope, I felt almost as if they were relishing in their reputations as the "pariahs". Dorian and RJ are definitely not victims...they are the victims worst nightmares. And it is so much fun to watch them in action. Dorian feels so justified in anything that she does and if Viki is her target so much the better. RJ's target these days is Sykes but I just don't feel that Sykes is up to being RJ's enemy or rival. I just feel that Sykes doesn't give back as good as RJ gives.

And Tea? Well I am not really sure what to think about her. I am not even sure I liked the premise of Tea selecting Dudley Do Right (as RJ likes to call him) over RJ. I guess Sykes' offering stability and security is all Tea needs now that she got all that money from Todd. But with all that money I would want to live a more exciting life. Watching RJ taunt Tea about her hidden feelings for him only makes me wish that she would just let go and be the Tea she was when she first landed in Llanview. I would like to see her give a little attitude back to RJ as good as RJ gives. I remember that Tea -- I don't like this sanctimonious, holier than thou character and I like her even less with Sykes.

RJ in Jail

Dorian followed RJ to his cell.
RJ laying down on his cot laughing: "I suppose you want to know if I torched my club." Dorian: "Sykes is railroading you again, isn't he?"
RJ: "What makes you think that?" Dorian: "And it has something to do with Tea. RJ I know what it's like to see somebody with something you desperately deserve. I can drive you to desperate measures."
RJ looks up at her: "Are you talking about me or you?" Dorian: "I went to Viki's house but she wasn't home. I found a man's shirt with a bullet hole in it."
RJ: "Are you using drastic measures?" Dorian: "And you haven't heard the best part yet. I went back later I looked through the garden into the library and I saw Viki there in the arms of a man. The man who the bloody shirt belongs to."
RJ: "Now Dorian breaking and entering I understand but I never saw you as a peeping tom." Dorian: "Hmm.. they looked so happy. You should see them, so warm, so in love."
RJ: "I know. You can look but you can't touch." Dorian: "I knew love like that when Mel was alive. I felt so much love, love I didn't even know was inside me. I felt that sometimes I would burst. So now Viki is nestled in the arms of her love and I--I'm left feeling with the only emotion I feel capable of feeling these days. Deep, dark, bitter hatred."
RJ looking at her through the bars, "Does it help?" Dorian: "No and I really should get over it."
RJ: "But you can't. I know." Dorian: "I never should have trailed Viki because seeing her happy is so painful. I can barely breathe."
RJ with a deep sigh: "Drop it Dorian. Just drop it now, before you end up like me." Dorian: "No my friend, I've no intention of being behind bars again, never again; but that is where I want to put Viki's paramour."
RJ: "But at what cost to you?" Dorian: "You know something I don't care what happens to me anymore."
RJ" I don't care what happens to me either, but it's funny, I care about you." Dorian: "Back at you. You know we're very much alike?"
RJ: "Really?" Dorian: "Well you always complaining that you are the #1 suspect whenever some new case comes along?"
RJ: "Well, I'm proud of it." Dorian: "Yes, well ever since I came to Llanview I have been the #1 suspect whenever anything goes wrong in Viki's life. Of course I have done my very best to live up to the towns expectations."
RJ: "That's my goal these days." Dorian: "Ok, suppose I don't turn over the shirt. Suppose I allow Viki and her bartender to experience their great ecstacy. Do you think that Viki could ever understand the agony that my life has been ever since Mel died in that plane crash? Do you think that Viki will get down on her knees and thank me? Hardly. No, Viki will be safe and secure in the arms of her lover; her family adoringly at her feet and I will be alone for the rest of my life. I don't think that's fair."
RJ: "Oh well...nothing much is. You haven't learned that yet?" Dorian: "So we just have to even the score whenever, wherever we can."
RJ: "Well I must admit there's a sweet satisfaction watching Sykes go crazy over this fire. Well, even if it had been firebombed while I was inside I'd be a suspect." Dorian: "Vindictiveness may not fill the void but it helps fill the fire in the belly."
RJ: "I like the way you think." Dorian: "I want to help you. Why don't you let me pay your bail?"
RJ: "No. No. No, don't bother. It will be so much sweeter when Sykes has to turn me loose; and he will. But you know if turning that shirt in makes you feel better, I say go for it. Treat yourself."
Tea walks in. RJ continues to talk to Dorian, "Just be ready to accept the consequences." Dorian responds, "I will."
Then before Dorian leaves she and Tea give each other a look with major attitude.

RJ: "So did you tell Dudley Do Right that I set my club on fire because I was lovesick for you?" Tea: "Is that some kind of lame twisted attempt at a guilt trip? Am I supposed to feel responsible for your criminal behavior? Oh it's society's fault. Well I'm not taking the bait, RJ."
RJ: "Really? Then why haven't you told anyone what I've told you? There's someway to make that confession to up in court if you really want to. I can see it in your eyes, Tea. I got to you. It's not just my confession but if you want to play good little ADA, you go right ahead. We both know who the jury will believe." Tea: "How dare you say you are my friend. Then pull me into a game like this. Are you testing me? Is that it? Is that what you were thinking? When you lit Club Indigo with two people inside, huh? What does Tea Delgado get like when things get really hot?"
RJ: "Oh, that would be delicious. But I wasn't in my mind, I wasn't thinking anything. I just saw those little flames and I thought if it could get just a little bit bigger they would be big enough to burn up this life." Tea: "So why drag me into it?"
RJ: "Oh it didn't take that much dragging. See you're fighting it now but can feel me. You're the same woman you were when you first started coming into my club. The same one who made me feel like there was something exciting just waiting for me. Someone I could talk to. In a way, I haven't talked to in a long time. You're still that." Tea: "Why don't you cut the bull."

RJ: "Tea, this was never supposed to be unpleasant. Look, I'll be damned if I'm going to make it easy for Sykes and his merry band of do-gooders to put me away. No, if he wants to put me away, out of sight and out of mind, he's gonna have to work just a little bit harder."
Tea grabs RJ by color, through the bars, "Now you listen to me, you listen to me. This is not some cockfight between you and John Sykes, do you understand that? And if you get off, how will you live with yourself?"
RJ: "If I get off because you kept my confidence, we'll both know I'm right and I can live with that quite nicely."
